paulitik
3 years in, on the verge of 3 winning seasons in a row, we have a potential breakout pocket passing QB in the mold of Manning and Brady, and we still have fans who want another mobile system QB with character concerns. Insanity.

Dem Birds
I think he will be an excellent QB for years to come if he decides to come out next draft. He will give some team a great chance at going all the way if he has the right players around him, and I think we have all that, not to knock Ryan but Ryan can't do the things this guy can. I would definately get him if he was available. Thoughts?I think you should think less....or get better at it.

Duff_Man
We should draft him and that kid from Michigan. We can set the league on fire by starting BOTH at QB. Imagine that...UNSTOPPABLE.

muskokas finest ©
As long as teams like Miami and Denver want to overdraft long shot QB's/gimmick players, I say let those teams have them.
since68andcounting
I'm assuming this is serious, so I'll reply that way, though it smacks very much of a trolling expedition. You could not pay two top dollar QBs on one team like Ryan and Newton. It's not possible under the cap without gutting the rest of your team. Therefore, if we were to draft Newton it would be because we have given up on Ryan. Which, I can assure you, will NOT be the case.
since68andcounting
I'm thinking a much more likely draft pick would be A.J. Green or Julio Jones, or one of the other great young receivers in the SEC...the kid from South Carolina, or the one from Arkansas. There's some SERIOUS WR talent about to enter the league. Although I see OT as our first pick unless the talent at OT is too weak. I'd love to see A.J. Green get drafted or any of the other two you mention. As to the OP. I am an auburn grad, and even I see he is not an NFL qb. you can't run single wing QB dives in the national football league. i don't buy this to be a serious thread actually. rugger8
Aside from all the other reasons why we can't or won't draft him, such as he'll go before we pick, we have other needs such as LT, RB, DE, and arguably WR, we are absolutely set at QB for another 10 years, provided we are able to come to terms on a contract extension for Ryan when the time comes. This shouldn't even cross anyone's mind. Therefore, in short, no. You are out of your mind to even consider it. Why did I even waste my energy responding? dmite
Early in the game versus the Bengals, someone in my section screamed, "We need to draft Cam Newton!" Presuming that they meant as a QB, I said back to them, "We don't need a running back." (Though I wouldn't mind a versatile speed back)

Lennon
Yeah, spending a first or second round pick on a quarterback when you already have a franchise QB makes perfect sense.
