Dharma Initiative
Guess we should be scared of McCoy and his 13 tackles with zero sacks this weekend. And to think half of this board thought he was better than Suh who had 6.5 sacks already.
Buc-man™®
bucs are 5-2 and the lions are 2-5... soooo, yeah plus i wanted eric berry anyway
sporkdevil
I don't think anyone really thought that. There were a few mock draft folk who said that McCoy is better, but that garbage always comes up pre-draft. I think it was clear that McCoy was good, but Suh was dominant and could take a whole game over.

Why would you expect posters on a messageboard to get it right?
egoprime II
A lot of teams thought Ryan Leaf was a better pro prospect than Peyton Manning. The Colts even considered drafting Leaf instead of Manning. This scouting thing has always been hit or miss, but I do think Dimitroff has found the formula for obtaining good players. Look for the older more mature players, the seniors...and, look for the guys who are team leaders, the team captains, those types.

sporkdevil
How bout Brandon graham? He turned out to be quite the monster. He isn't quite making the impact I thought he would, and is still only getting limited reps. I know DE takes awhile to play up to potential, but I thought he was more pro-ready than a lot of pass rushers. I just checked, and he has two sacks and 7 tackles. Not terrible, but considering the injuries Philly has had, I would have expected more from the little dude. Hard to compare him to other DE's, but he is outperforming JPP (duh, zero sacks), Morgan tore his ACL but had looked pretty good, Jerry Hughes hasn't even played, but Koa Misi has 3.5 sacks. Oh, and Corey Peters has more tackles than McCoy.
iDash
imo, BP In Draft 2010 ResultsDez was the best player in the draft,Suh was second,Bradford was 3rdBerry is 4thSpoon is 5thI guess McCoy is 6th by DefaultBTW, I like McCoy the Best before draft
sporkdevil
jpp is going to be a beast in due time. he is a physical freak and has the right teachers and the ideal situation to succeed. You need more than a physical freak, or else Jam Jam and Gholston would be probowlers. Maybe he will become a great DE, but he had something like 7.5 career sacks. In college. He's a huge gamble that will probably take two years before anyone knows if he is going to be worth anything. Roddyrod
So how is our top 10 big star DE/DT Jamaal Anderson doing? Mccoy is better than Jammaal will ever be. so it is what it is
Hashbrown3
Suh was the cream of the crop. He went where he should have gone. Had he been there, TB would have pulled the trigger too I bet. McCoy can work out in a year or two so I would hold off on judgement. What happened w/ Price the DT out of UCLA? They got both right? I really want to whip TB's a$$es just to make a statement. It is very important that they understand who the future of this division belongs to. you can rest assured that Smitty will be pounding this point home to our guys. Master Exploder
Regardless, the Bucs seemed to have hit pretty good with a promising young QB, RB, and WR along with a highly coveted DT in the past 2 drafts. They could be very scary for years to come.I don't get why people have been knocking the Bucs for taking McCoy. It's not like they had an option and he was certainly the next best thing. Suh is just another type of player, it's not often that the number 1 and number 2 picks of the draft turn out to be the frontrunners for both OROY and DROY. FalconFanSince1970
When it comes to the draft, hindsight is 20 freakin 20 folks. A total crap shoot. Not many professional football teams are good at it. Most message board legends are very good at it.

I just didn't see anywhere that McCoy looked anywhere near Suh in college and it's still hard to believe some thought McCoy would be better. I think it was just the cool thing to do. cyofish
What gets me about the draft talk is the highlight video people put together to prove their pick is a baller. The fact is anyone can put together a 5 - 10 play highlight out of hundreds they were involved in. I also don't get those people wanting to draft a DE in the later rounds because we have a real need for a dominant DE. First of all it's very rare for a rookie to make an immediate impact. Second, why draft another mediocre DE in the 3rd - 7th round? Heck, it's a crap shoot drafting them in the 1st round. I think if we have a urgent need on the OL or DL we should look at the available free agents first.
Clark Kent™
How bout Brandon graham? He turned out to be quite the monster.Slow your roll there buddy. Graham has played pretty well considering the amount of snaps he is getting and he has also been kicked inside at DT some this year as well. I still think he will be the best DE in this past draft. Give him a year or 2 to grow as a DE and get more playing time and we will see how he does.I dont know about the whole "everyone thought McCoy was the best DT" , but i know with McCoy, Price, and Roy Miller the Succaneers have a bright future on the D line. And throw in Benn and Mike Williams then i'd say they had a legit draft. The Buc's and Bronc's had the 2 best drafts IMO. Edited November 2, 2010 by Clark Kent
