TroubleDawg
Yeah, very hillarious.I will say one thing though. Lets say my kid is fortunate enough to play big boy football. I would much rather my son face an opposing coach who gives him the choking sign, throw in some cuss words in there too, I don't care. I would rather my son face that kind of adversity as opposed to being told he has to take a grayshirt, have the Head Coach leave for another job in the middle of the night, be forced to take a medical hardship, being told that his scholly will not be renewed because he didn't quite live up to the "coaches standards." But that's just me. Plenty of people will defend this and plenty of people will criticize this. I personally think this is big boy football. You should not watch if something like this offends you.^^ Agreed^^

It was unprofessional was my point and if another teams coaches had done it you would be on here blasting them for it. It one thing for a Coach to be hard on his players ( I had plenty of hard nosed football coaches growing up and had no problem with it) but to taunt the other schools players as a DC is immature and unprofessional no matter how you try and spin it. I mean, if you can't coach coach UP your own team to STOP somebody, is the next best thing to try and DE-coach the opposing players? The spin stops here. I've always wanted to say that. (O'reilly actually read one of my emails on his TV show, my 15 minutes of fame.)People will defend this and some will criticize this. Do you think this is the first time it has happened? This is probably the only time somebody has been caught. Personally, choking signs and words would not bother me. This is big boy football and my bet is that it happens alot more than you and I think. When it comes to coaches and players, there's a line that should never be crossed. I personally don't think this particular incident crossed the line, many people will have a different oppinion and that's fine by me. I dont think TG deserves to be punished or anything it just made him look bad IMO. Now if he had gone Woody Hayes on him then thats a different story. Carter
This thread is seriously 6 pages long??!?!?!?I wouldn't care if Steve Spurrier did what Grantham did. And I hate Spurrier. This is completely meaningless... seriously.

In tribute of your reference to riding the high horse into battle, once more into the breach, while this thread borders on insanity in reaching 6 pages, I shall quote the late Lewis Grizzard, this time pointing to the small stature of the Crimson Tide moral high horse.....SHOOT LOW THEY'RE RIDING SHETLANDS!!!! Ransack
It is pretty funny to hear the Georgia fans defending this issue. And a point that may have been missed in all of this, if Grantham's defense had not made Florida's anemic offense look like worldbeaters, there would have been no need to call for the "choke" in overtime. It's funny to us to hear an Alabama fan even attempt to lecture us about anything regarding sportsmanship, fairplay, etc, etc, etc.... it's comical really because there are ZERO grounds to stand on from your end. ChuyDawg
*** For what it’s worth, the Gators’ Henry laughed off the incident, telling the Palm Beach Post, “I think it’s ridiculous what people are trying to say, that he should have to apologize for it or be fined or anything. … It’s just an intense game.” Henry said that he blew Grantham a kiss in response. “I see that they’d taken a timeout and I looked over at their coach and I started laughing, like, ‘You’re going to ice me? I’m not even the kicker. You’re going to ice me?’” Henry told the Post’s Jason Lieser. “So I start looking and I see the guy doing the choke. I look at him again and he does like, ‘You’re gonna choke.’ So I take my helmet off and I gave him a little smooch at him. I blew him a little kiss. That might be why he got a little upset about that.”***An interesting response from Mr. Henry. It seems that Mr. Henry may have provoked the whole thing. I would expect nothing less. List of those who Georgia has had to defend in 2010:1) Todd Grantham (Choke-Gate)2) Mark Richt (Another disappointing season with discipline issues off-the-field)3) A.J. Green (regarding his suspension by the NCAA)4) Aaron Murray (regarding his play in the Cocktail Party)5) Arrested Players (Athens police is picking on them)List of those who Georgia has elected not to defend in 2010:1) Marcus Lattimore (South Carolina)2) Greg Childs (Arkansas)3) Chris Relf (Mississippi State)4) Rodney Stewart (Colorado)5) Trey Burton (Florida)

Those comments on the corruption within Alabama's football program must have really pissed you off for you to still be on this. I don't think the Florida fans are this upset. And given that only about two posters are defending the gesture, I think you're grasping at straws. Now if you want to make fun of Georgia's record or arrests, go ahead, but don't act like this isn't some tit for tat way of expressing your anger that we would dare to question the integrity of the only professional football team residing in college football.
