SEC Guy calls Oregon radio show.

Pac 10 guys are hillarious. I grew up is Southern California before we moved to GA. I was still just a little kid when I lived in CA so my knowledge of Pac 10 football has always been very limited, and honestly PAC 10 football was just not that interesting to tell you the truth. I still go back from time to time to visit some family. The SEC hate over there is out of control. You should see the crap I get when they see me proudly wearing the RED and BLACK. I hear the same crap about SEC teams not going West to play the PAC 10 boys. I give them the AZ state example, of course they don't like hearing that.

What really angers them is when I tell them that an SEC team doesn't need to schedule a game against any Pac 10 team. The national perspective is that the SEC is the toughest conference to play in, so why in he77 would you want to fly out West to play in a "gotcha-sandwhich" game. The national perspective about the Pac 10 is not so great. Pac 10 teams always have to prove themselves. Pac 10 teams need the SEC, that's a fact. I say pass on it, too much risk involved in flying across the country for a meaningless game. Bowl games are a different story of course. You should see the look on their faces when I say that, its always good to go back to visit.

I want to say that as big and bad as the SEC is (and claims to be), I still wish and think a top-level SEC school would do everyone well to go out west and play a top-level PAC-12 school. Winning such a game would put a needed stamp on the SEC's overall National Seal of Approval.

Truly, that game SHOULD have happened with the 2008 Rose Bowl with UGA vs. Southern California. I think that game would have had bigger ratings than the BCS Championship LSU vs. Ohio State.

I cannot rememmber the last time an SEC team played a PAC-12 team out there (top notch teams against each other, I mean). I don't think the Tennessee/California thing a few years ago fits the bill. Does it?

Not to blame UGA, but what year was it scheduled for that they cancelled out of? In 2 years, UGA should be pretty good and Oregon should probably still be good. Maybe neither one top 5 but you never know.

Anyway, SEC commissioners if you're reading this, Let's step up and out and go out West. Losing the game won't mean the conference isn't the best. But winning it will sho' nuff shine brighter that big No. 1 Conference-in-the-Land Crown you'all's wearing so proudly!

Yeah I was surprised to hear them say no SEC team will come out west and play them... when Georgia beat Arizona State in Tempe just last year. :huh:

Honestly the SEC hate goes on everywhere... and the hate for everyone else is pretty strong in SEC Land, as well. No one really seems to respect one another.

I've always found it odd that the SEC and Big Ten don't share more respect, considering they play nearly identical styles of football and are steeped in tradition and history.

It's not as bad as the *** whoopins given to us by USC in 05 and 06. Hopefully those kind of losses never happen again.

I can stomach a loss to USCe tomorrow, the problem is I can't take one to Kentucky which I'm afraid could happen this year. Those USC games were rough, I was hoping you all would handle them in the game at home.

UT lost at UCLA and at Cal. Quite poor at representing the SEC, they are.

What's shameful about them getting housed at Cal is that they went on to play in the SEC title game that season and nearly beat LSU, who played for the national title and won. Shameful. They also got railroaded by an Alabama team that barely made bowl eligibility. Erik Ainge, lol.
