The falcons are getting no love this season bc people say they are lucky... Explain to me how the saints get 6-7 wins in fluke fashion last year and win the superbowl on an essentially Lucky onsides kick, after getting the Refs to HAND them the NFC Championship game in overtime, and you call their QB ALL-WORLD. Yet you wont even throw the Falcons a bone when they Beat the Saints and are tied for the best record in the NFC !!?! Flying under the radar is nice, but if Brees or Romo's teams had a 5-2 record the analysts would be giddy as schoolgirls to rant about how amazing they are... WORLD-CLASS... john_winger
I got flamed a few weeks ago for calling Brees a decent QB. Ok, it was flame from a baghead. I revised it upward to say he was very good. Still not great. In light of him getting picked like a ripe cherry tree last week, I again downgrade him to decent.Flame away. freebird587
in the last 4 years the saints have a top rated offense and won a sb last year...this year doesnt take all that away and they still get the benefit of a doubt because of that...we will never be talked about much, uless we win a sb,and even then,it will fade quicker than most sb winning teams...thats just how it is and i accept that and its ok...we will have to win 3 to get the attn we deserve
kane#7
Put it this way if Matt Ryan wins a superbowl as a falcon fan i will give him love for the rest of his career no matter what he does after because it is all about the ring
Roddyrod
Drew Brees is not a good QB, He's a great QB leading his team to the super bowl and winning, u have to give him the benefit of the doubt, more so than other QB

WOWI can understand your frustration; the Falcons are now 40+ years and have nothing to show for it. Plus you have a weak fan base and I'm not saying it, everybody says it. You do realize Drew Brees and the Saints beat 4 future hall of fame QB's last year? Maybe 5, if Eli can put up better numbers. You can call the Saints a fluke if you want, but just remember one thing the Saints will always be in the Super Bowl conversation for now on. Like it or not the dirty birds will never get any love, unless you can win it all. Deal with it! Edited October 28, 2010 by Who Dat 4 Life! DrewBreeess
Lordy,Lordy. Hate the Saints all you want, but to diss Drew Brees is reDICKulas. The stats don't lie.National Football League records- Most completions, season 440 (2007)Highest completion percentage, season 70.62% (2009)ONLY QB EVER to complete over 70% in a season.Highest completion percentage, career postseason 66.67% (150/225)Lowest interception percentage, career postseason 0.89%Most completions in a Super Bowl 32 (Super Bowl XLIV; tied with Tom Brady)Only 2nd QB ever to throw more than 5000 yds in 1 season- 2008 (other QB is Dan Marino) A 4 time pro bowler, Offense player of the year 2008, runner up in 2010. MVP of the Superbowl, 2010. If these were Matt Ryan stats, you'd be slobbering all over yourself. If you think the Saints won the superbowl ONLY because of the onsides kick, you weren't paying attention. 32 of 39 passing with 3 drops.Almost perfect against the mighty Colts.Let's don't forget the int, either. Cry that same ole song about the Viking game. Turn the ball over SIX times and you lose. By the way, the article was a little off. Colt McCoy had NOTHING to do with the Saints losing last week. He passed for 74 yds and had a rating of 68.2. Has Brees thrown some ints this season? Heck yea. He's thrown some bad passes and still leads the NFL is completion %. Matt Ryan has all the tools to be an excellent QB. I'm sure he'll have a great career.Heck, he may be the one to get the Falcons off the list of teams that have NEVER won a superbowl. maybe even this season. Falcons are certainly playing the best in the NFC South right now. If it weren't for having to play 9 more games, they'd be division champs. But, vomit all you want.Drew Brees is a great QB. There's a reason he's mentioned in the same breath as P. Manning and T Brady.Compare their stats. You may be surprised. Tandy
I can understand your frustration; the Falcons are now 40+ years and have nothing to show for it. Like it or not the dirty birds will never get any love, unless you can win it all. Deal with it!Even though this is an arrogant attempt at a dig - there is a lot of truth in this.Drew Brees is an excellent QB. The Saints won and deserved to win the Superbowl last year. I don't believe in "fluke" seasons. Fluke plays, yes. But, you have to put yourself in position to win regardless of the fluke play.Take that game we played against the Saints this year. Everybody talks about how the Falcons lucked out because your kicker missed. Fluke play. Did not give us the win. After that play - the Falcons were 1st and 20 on our own 10 yard line. Ryan runs for 13 yards to make a play because no one was open and they brought the house after him. Now, we are 2nd and 7 instead. Chance. The Falcons then drove the ball down to the New Orleans 23 yard line in 11 more plays. Now, the kicker is ready to kick. The ice attempt. Then a procedural penalty which moved them back 5 yards. Now, it's a 46 yard field goal attempt! Then - VICTORY!We beat you. We earned that win. No fluke - no excuse.
