stldirtybird
I think Turner is the type of back that gets better as the season wears on. Just like last season he started off slow then turned it up as the season went on then he got hurt. Again he seems to be getting stronger and faster as the season continues, I expect to see a moster second half of the season from him. Of course, it was the Lions, so who knows.

slamee101
I think you might be right. Yes, in 08 he came out guns blazing but last year and this year I think he's gotten better as the season wore on (definitely last year by the time we got to the Saints game he was looking GREAT). Hopefully he continues to run like he did Sunday.
Falcons_own_nfc_south
Last year Turner showed up in Week 8 at NO. Let's hope that Same turner is back again.

Of course, it was the Lions, so who knows.and also to add to that, he came in over weight as well and took a while to get going, thenn got hurt... so i was hoping more of the 08 turner would come back, but he isnt on a bad pave, he is a top 10 back right now.... Dharma Initiative
It appears so, he looks like the old Turner just trucking through guys and throwing defenders off of his back
Guest Gritz
He has had a few off games, but we have played some wicked run Ds already too....Even if he just stayed on his current pace (83.5 yards a game) Michael would end up with 1341 yards for the season....If he stays healthy I bet he ends up with that or better....maybe 1400 yards.......... B_Lo_Touchdowns
Turner better step it up he was tip toeing alot last week even though he did put up good numbers with good runs i think he tryna avoid injuries instead of going full speed every play i also wanna see Smith get some touches this year too

Des-pool
I don't think it is a matter of starting slow or hot, I think Turner's production relies completely on what we do as an offense/offensive playcalling. I think there is enough tape on us the last couple of years for teams to know what we are going to do out of said formation. The first year, people didn't have that research and his running lanes were open. The really good teams scout out their opponents and seemingly know what they are going to do before they do it. This is because they know a team's "tell", like in poker. The only way to get around this is to be more unpredictable, like last week, when we threw out of a formation on 3rd and 1 that we had never thrown from before. We need to keep this up and stopped being outcoached based on our tendencies. Then you will see Turner putting up 100 yard games every Sunday... Dr_truth189
Do you guys think its possibly the fact that our O-line is making bigger lanes for him to run in?
blizzard_falcon
Do you guys think its possibly the fact that our O-line is making bigger lanes for him to run in?Not really. I saw a stat somewhere that said he had about 85% of his yards on Sunday after first contact. That shows that the line really isn't making big lanes for him, and that he's grinding out yards by tough running and breaking tackles. atljbo
One thing i recognize about Turner run style is that he starts off slow... Snelling initial burst is better then Turner... So good penetration will ALWAYS stop Turner.... What make Turner a top5 RB is if the O-Line hold there ground and let turner het started... Once he hit the LOS or +2 in yards.... Dude is a hand full to tackle... He will make 1 guy miss or break a tackle... Once he get started ... Turner has speed.... He doesnt look fast sometimes but the guy gets 20+ runs all the time... I think he's intelligent enough that if he has three plays to change into based on a given look, he'd pick a better one if one's available. I keep getting the impression that they want to rein him in instead of trust him they way the Colts trust Manning. He's probably going to have to get into Mularkey's face and scream at him before Mularkey will believe he's got the fire to do it, though.
