after the sunday night game, tony dungy was talking about how someone in the nfc needs to step up and show that they are the class of the nfc. he mentioned a few teams that i cant remember but no mention of the Falcons. i dont think Dungy has any biased opinions or anything like that but that just shows how little exposure the Falcons get

I was listening to NFL Sirius this AM and they were talking about the best teams in the NFC and they talked about the Giants and I forgot the other one and I couldn't help to wonder why the Falcons were not even mentioned in the topic especially since they currently have the best record in the NFC. The other host did bring up the Falcons and the guy mentioned Ryan, Gonzo, and Turner but how he could forget mentioning Roddy is very telling of how little some of these guys pay attention.

At least ESPN finally stopped ranking the Panthers as the most likely to win the Superbowl.

I saw that too...

Mentions a few NFC teams that may be contenders but completely left out the one that happens to have the best record in the NFC, the only one with a 4-1 past 5 game record.

Yooohoooo! Over here!!!!

I just watched Mora and Davis, and Mora said definitively that Atlanta is the best team in the NFC. Davis said the NYG, but he agreed that Atlanta is in the conversation.

I haven't watched a lot of Giants games this year but their defense looks solid (superbowlish to me). And ... you better pack a spare QB when you play them.

I'll let the stat guys sort this one out but if both teams are that good than more than likely they will play head to head at some point in the season.

Ha, I'm one to talk. I have more typos on this board than anyone else. I can spell - I just cant type.

Well REV you are still ahead of me, I never ever learned to spell, and my typing is

atro eerr bad.

Back to topic - my friend in Arkansas hates the cowboys and I told him I was pulling for the boys to win this one bssed soley on team records. A Cowboy win would have helped the Falcons more (record wise). But looks like my support of the boys for one game was just not enough.

After getting spanked in Philly I'm kind of over the whole respect thing. I think we're one of the top 5-6 teams in the league...and I think by the end of the year we'll be better. That said, all this talk in pro football is irrelevant b/c it is always settled on the field. Think back to last year and some of the teams they were saying were the best in the 1st half of the season. Some were even predicting an all NY SuperBowl.

I think the issue will go away if the Falcon's win their next two home games. The bucks are an up and comming team and the ravens, well their the ravens, they are tough, great defense and that Ryan vs Flacco thing.

Yeah, we go 7 - 2 and anyone that says we are not the best team in the NFL is selling something. We lose either and I would say the Falcon's arent there yet.

I am going to assume you meant the NFC. It won't matter what people think if the Falcons make it to 7-2. The important thing is where are the Falcons going to stand after 16 games.
