Faithful Falcon
I've come to find that that doesn't mean **** these days. Not so much that, but he was a very focused person. He had committed to play a Tech. I was like, this guy may just have what it takes to make it. He went pro in football, and his entire life changed. Man, money can change people big time.I'm sure Eddie Long was also a "good kid/church boy"......look what money has done to him. Quincy needs some help, this has been going on too long and he's not a kid anymore. Big Boy jail without boosters getting you out is no fun. Billy Ocean
I can tell y'all first hand that Quincy's problems started at UGA, not the NFL.At UGA he had a posse of non-student hangers-on, a lot of enablers, a substance abuse problem, and towards the end a very bad attitude.I don't hate him like a lot of my fellow Dawgs do. I feel sorry for him, and feel a lot of the blame falls on the head of Donnan. His problems are obviously self-inflicted, but I really think his life would've gone in a better direction if not for the aforementioned enablers. I had a few friends at UGA during his time there that knew him. Man's downfall most definitely dated back to his college days.
Billy Ocean
My undergrad years at UGA were '98-'02. The student body used to trade Quincy and Jasper stories. The difference between the fan expectations and opinion of Quincy from the beginning of his career and the end can't be overstated. We were hyping him for the Heisman before the '99 season and hoping Cory Phillips would remain the starter by the 2000 season. It's been said that the thumb injury was exaggerated/fabricated because his personal life was spiraling so out of control that it was making it impossible for him to function on the field. The Cowboys rank a distant second to the Falcons as my favorite NFL team, and I was shocked when the Cowboys took Quincy so high. The Cowboy's scouts really didn't do their due diligence as any of us students could have given some very unflattering accounts of Quincy's character. The lesson, as always, Jerry Jones is an idiot. Same Ol Falcons
I met and got to know Quincy fairly well when he was the QB here in Shreveport for the Battle Wings - He lived with the coach and got suspended for being late to meetings... He came in my night club several times and he always ended up in an altercation, then one day he got into it with Stromile Swift who is probably one of the nicest athletes that comes to my place - so I had to ask Quincy not to come back and haven't seen him since
