"No more DEVISTATING HITS or HITS TO THE HEAD".....I'm all for the the hits to the head, but DEVISTATING?...there can be so many devistating hits that are clean. this is gonna cause so many corners and safties to lay off guys and missed tackles and more longer gain plays. Just plain bullsh!t

Not only that, the last thing the NFL needs is another rule that will vary based on the interpretation of that official. There is no way to make a definitive "this is a devastating hit and that isn't" type of rule. Completely up to how each ref sees it.

All it's going to accomplish is more controversy, not to mention guys scared to hit people so they don't get suspended.

Referees won't call it. It's something the league will review each week after the games and hand out suspensions later. Obviously, if a flag is thrown on a play, the league will look at that play more closely but I'm pretty sure they will miss a lot of plays and catch others which makes this rule ridiculous.

They can't see everything and they can pick out people that they want to enforce it on. This sets up the NFL for more game rigging talk if they start suspending key players for questionable enforcements.

Hinder the defense = covering up for a degredation of QB play in today's NFL

Covering up for poor QB play = better offenses

Better offenses = more scoring

More scoring = better TV ratings

Better TV ratings = more, and higher sponsorship/commercial fees

More & higher fees = more $$$ in owners pockets

And more $$$ = all they really care about (not player safety or they wouldn't be trying to go to an 18 game season)

Couldn't have said it better myself.
