tell me about it, but u want to kno wats funny, WR can deck a defender if he isnt looking and nothing is called, man i would hate to be a devensive player..... they get no love from the NFL...

Yup remember a couple of years ago when Hines Ward knocked out Keith Rivers and broke his jaw? What happens when a WR does deck out a db pe lb?

Vince Young got injured trying to recover a fumble tonight. Its time to blow the play dead when the ball is fumbled. Too many "devastating" injuries on fumble recoveries. These type of scrums are an antiquated relic of the 20th century and have no place in the new NFL.

yea i sure do, its crazy that the NFL makes a rule that doesnt pretain to both sides of the ball, every rule that has been made since reall ever has helped the offense and just made things that much harder on defense.... mel blount rule, then the roy williams rule, now this, thoes three itself just cripple a defense with doing anything..... big hits also makes ppl enjoy watching the game... its not all about offensse!!! DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!

If this had been the Superbowl and Jackson was in the endzone and DRob made this same play to keep him from getting a touchdown - is it still a penalty. WTF I don't get how DRob was supposed to break up this catch without hitting him hard - I'm sorry that they both got hurt, but I give DRob the Hickory Stick Award for laying a smack down and making one heck of a play!

Jackson had the ball in his hands taken almost 2 steps and then DRob laid some wood down. Was Dunta supposed to give him 5 steps 10 steps before he hit him or simply try to 2 hand touch him and call him down because his pinky toe touched him. I am for rules that protect these players, but when a receiver has the ball in both hands, taken 2 steps, I don't call that defensless.

I bet you Rey Lewis is more upset than anybody.

Lewis would be ejected every week for a devastating hit. It's a part of the game.Always has been. While I'm all for the restrictions on the knees and head, this is more about $ and protecting their stars.

Problem with this is they will start losing fans. Maybe i'm looking to deep into this but will teams start drafting differently and not have intimidating players like we do in the backend in Decoud and Moore? It's not just a head to head hit they are saying anything viscous will be a suspension right? I'm all for trying to protect players but taking the physicality out of the game is not the right move to do. Goddell is making his league too girly imo. I understand the helmet to helmet and hitting qb's below the knees as well as the horse collar but everything else is bologna.
