Hatch
It was a clean hit, I swear... lets just turn the NFL into a 2 hand touch league because players can no longer tackle without being suspended, flagged or fined.
Theyhateme : )
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5701512It wasn't even helmet to helmet...they trippin -_- ...
Jaymadd
He should not get suspended. They are talking about changing the rules going forward you cant put a rule in place just to suspend someone for an action that has already happened - Dunta is not going to get suspended, please review the clip just so you are clear this would be imposed for violations going forward my friend, Your thread title is misleading. Hatch
It wasn't even helmet to helmet...they trippin -_- ...Of course it wasn't an helmet to helmet, reason Robinson got his concussion is because he hit Jackson shoulder really hard, which can led to a concussion believe it or not. That tackle was clean, the nfl just wants to turn the nfl into a 2hand touch football league. It's football, players get hurt... get over it people!

Plunket76
"...effective this weekend" doesn't mean it's retroactive to 10/17, does it? I think the punishment for past offenses will be a fine only. Poorly worded by Mort...
falcon54
He better not be even fined. It was a clean hit. Granted one of the most devastating hits I have ever seen but clean. Kinda reminded me of the Hammer laying some wood
Falconsfan567
It was a clean hit! But because he plays for the Falcons and ESPN hates anything to do with the city of Atlanta they trippin!
Hatch
IF their going to start suspending people for head 2 head, everybody will be suspended by games end. Believe it or not, Head 2 head has always been part of football.

Kinda reminded me of the Hammer laying some woodThere's no question he'll get fined. It was a clean hit and it's sad that all the analysts (almost all) are agreeing (sad part is he will get fined). They'll fine him because it's been an ongoing thing this year and they have to set an example and it will clearly be displayed as the prime example.A Crock of crap in my opinion. Two hands below the waste is the next move. Like they always say, you have to see what you're hitting. And yes, suspensions will be going forward.
dmite
They said helmet to helmet and "devastating hits"... how lame is that?! Defenses can't hit anymore, they might as well dress these players up in tutus.
Norwood all the way!
how do the "experts" not see it as a clean hit? there is no helmet to helmet. DR just laid a clean hit like a real football player. i kinda wish that XFL was still going on. im sure they didnt have as many rules as the NFL does

dmite
Finally an honest discussion about this on ESPN.Yeah, and I don't think Steve Young agrees with it... he's just taking the devil's advocate approach. But yeah, it was a good discussion and you can tell they're all fed up with the league office's direction.

If that is the case I'd support what's going on. I also think though as a supporter of the game that he would also encourage hard nosed football.Devastating hits? That boils my blood. Purpin
I don't understand why they keep calling it a helmet to helmet hit when their helmets barely grazed each other. Be real guys.
