RYNE
That even Vince Young gets the chance to air out the ball. Now you can't tell me that Ryan can't hit every pass that Young can and then some. I just would like to know what is mularkeys excuse for why we don't do this? Like I said in another post yesterday Ryan stares his receivers down and I think chooses who he is going to throw to pre-snap, so you might as well give roddy or jenkins a chance to be there man and give ryan a chance to throw to a spot where only our guys have a chance to catch it
KRUNKuno
Vince Young is also1. Mobile: eats up a spy, or usually a qb contain or two. That's at least 1 less defensive player to worry about per play.2. Chris Johnson effect = 8 in the box. Single coverage on the outside. RYNE
To go on further, how about we try this new concept of a QB throwing the football more than 10 yards down the field on like 2nd and 1 when the defense has 8 or 9 in the boX and everyone in the country know we are going to try and run right up the middle, how about a play-action deep ball to Roddy. Its so crazy it just might work

RYNE
Mularky is too vanilla, and our oline has been swiss cheese.Yeah, that is pretty much it. I really wish someone that has access to him would just ask him point blank... Why do you refuse to throw down the field? I'd be vary curious to hear his answer
Taijis
The problem with the falcons right now is the playcalling, o-line and Matt Ryans pressure response. I mean if you guys really don't see MM being a problem just think of Matt in the no huddle. Why is Matt so good in the no huddle? and can throw to Roddy when he is being double-triple covered? There i a discrepancy somewhere in between. Its alright though because next week I KNOW the falcons are going to bring it and bring it hard to the bengals. VT89
I was thinking about this earlier and wondering if it has a bit to do with Tony Gonzalez. Right now Ryan is on pace for about the same amount of 20 yards + completions as last season (bear in mind he missed 3 games last year) and 5.## 40 yard+ completions compared to the four last year. In 2008 he had 45 and 9 respectively. Michael Turner's super season in 2008 certainly has something to do with it but I wonder if Ryan was more prone to just throwing it up for his receivers to make a play in 2008, and now with Tony G in the mix knows he has a safety valve which he will connect with 70% of the time. Not saying it is, just hypothesizing. He's on pace for a lot more sacks, but his INT% is very low, which is a good thing. I really don't think he is getting adequate protection. I'd sooner play my odds with Snelling and Mughelli blocking and White, Jenkins and Gonzalez out for a pass than the five wide sets IMO.
