We all knew coming into this game today that this was a measuring stick for where we were as a team. Well after today, we are NOT the NFC leader in anything. Andy Reid totally made this team look like a bunch of high schoolers once again. No wonder no one takes us seriously. When we have the opportunity to show what we're made of we come out and just flop. There are so many things that went wrong today until I can't really blame any one person or phase of the game. We thought that we were this dominant team and didn't dominate anything. We played very undiscipline football on defense and our offense is a joke. Andy Reid has the Falcons' number. Flame on flamers!

Not shocked at all.

Thought Reid would come with it. He might look like a walrus but he has owned so many Falcon coaches I would have to say at this point he is our daddy.

Reeves, Mora and Smitty. 1-8 in the last nine games folks. Any questions?

Well said. It's the same old story with the Falcons. They can't stand prosperity. This pathetic exhibition by the Falcons clearly proves they collectively wouldn't make a boil on a good football team's butt. Any further allusions they're a "contender" for any type of post-season berth should only be made by hopelessly optimistic homers who refuse to face reality.

This is a soon-to-be 6-10 cowardly trainwreck of a team with absolutely no heart, no balls, piss-poor coaching and mediocre players who crap their ghey pants at the thought of having to live up to the pressure of being a good team.

GG Arthur Blank. It's a shame nobody told you you were purchasing a carnival sideshow instead of an actual bonafide NFL football team.

Geez, don't go hang yourself!

...on second thought....

This is all that I'm saying...I'm tired of this guy owning us. I'm totally frustrated today and don't want to hear about the Bengals next week or any other team. This was the true measure of where our team is offensively and defensively in my mind.

Any Falcon fan thinking that what happened today was a fluke is out of their mind. We got exposed pure and simple. It does not mean we will not make the play-offs, but no Super Bowl insight with this coaching staff. They are our achilles heel. Real spit.

Exactly! We looked like a total mess today. Plain and simple! Where was the rest of our defense while the Eagles' WRs were running free through the secondary? Dunta made sure one of them was stopped today though!!! Knock em' out.

Dunta did represent. No pressure up the middle on a dink and dunk passer. Incredible how patheic the game preparation was. We gave Philly 14pts at least off of band coordinating.

And why did we play zone on a WC offense team? They live off the dink and dunk and our defense is playing way off. I don't understand how you can be a DC in the NFL and play 10-15 yards off a WC offense? Did their team speed scare you that much? If our DBs do what Dunta did, then their WRs would be hearing foot steps all day. BVG is garbage and I don't know what credentials he had to ever win a DC job in the NFL.

we just played a bad game. play calling was bad nobody showed up today. Mike Smith will have this team ready to play against the bengals

That was not a BAD game. They got man-handled!! Dominated!!

They got so out-coached and were so unprepared.

Do you realize that the Eagles had just about half of their starters injured...and they didn't miss a beat???

Is Atlanta at that level?

Name me one team in the NFL that didn't lose yet this year. So when the other teams lose are their weaknesses not exposed? Come on you don't win em all. Hopefully next week they can bounce back.

You know, I don't think any of us feel we should have a perfect season. But I personally would like to see a competitive game and not a one-sided game. If we lost by a touch down or field goal, so be it. But we didn't...we got manhandled from the start of the game. We gave the Eagle's WRs too much respect and played too deep, we got little to no pressure on Kolb, we let them kill us with gimmick plays. That's why I'm pissed and disappointed in this team. They never come to play the top teams with a game plan--or at least one that works. Run, run, run won't work. When they're blitzing why not constantly move the pocket to give Ryan more time? We do not make good adjustments to counter what the opponent is doing. This coaching staff is being paid to put our players in the best position to win. People say we have the best coaching staff in the league? Don't believe the hype. Mularkey has not proven he can win anything big. BVG is a college coach at best, yet we hire him as our DC with no NFL coordinator experience. The ST coach needs to be sent packing. I don't ever remember the Falcons having a special teams problem like we're having now. Smitty looks like your team is gonna bring you down.

As a long time Falcons fan I unfortunately believe this is where we're at and where we've always been. When we're good we aren't good. When we're bad we are bad.

I knew this wouldn't be a blowout with us on top. I wanted one, but knew that that's not the way we play. We're not good enough to blow out Philly as some were preaching for this week. Clearly we're not good enough to look half-way respectable against a good team.

It's very very frustrating.

However, I believe this loss could do us some good. It clearly brought up a lot of deficiencies we have right now. Bad part is that some of the deficiencies are not easily made or a quick fix. Some are...most of the killers aren't.

I won't flame. I agree. It is only one game but after the last few I've said we can't play like this against Philly. We tried to play like that and this is what happens. The Saints are the toughest team we've played but Philly IMO is a step above the Saints right now. We gotta keep workin' and keeep improving. Learn from our mistakes and hopefully have the personnel to get it done...regardless of play-calling. If the players are doing all they can and it's still not working, then one can blame coordinators and coaches....frustrated.

Reid just called a better game. You cant say it was all Ryan and the WRs. Jenkins had 99 yards his first game back so he clearly takes advantage of the double teams being played on white and Tony G. We have pass blocking issues and always have had those issues. We need a legit LT and a more physical RT. As well as the coaching staff staying true to how they want the team to win games not how us the fans think they should win. When we play our type of game we are dominant we just didnt stick to what we really do best and its a learning curve that surprisingly we have to go through each time we play those **** eagles. Reid just knows how to get the best of us.

Jenkins did have a good game and that should help going forward. Philly changed a lot of their tendencies(sp). Also trick plays that use to be Mularkey's trademark helped them. But this is what happens when you have a bullseye on your back. When you're in the lead, everyone is going to bring their best game to you.

I agree, I think we might need to draft a franchise LT and move Baker to RT.

Also Weatherspoon did not play and I wonder how that affected the defense. Plus our defense is young and Reid took advantage of that fact. I just hope our secondary learned some valuable lessons today.

Hopefully this will wake them up and make them stop paying attention to the news clippings. On the plus side, we split our road games for the 1st half of the season 2-2 and we're 4-2 with a third of season done.

Some of us like all the attention, I prefer to go back to flying under the radar. I prefer not to get all this attention until we're in the playoffs.

We just did not play a good game today and the iggles were more motivated.

Nothing was "exposed" even great teams have games like these.

Remember the Cowboys vs saints last year?

THe saints were dominated

The vikes got CREAMED by the panthers last year

Again crappy game, no sugar coating it we did not play the way we are capable. but to say we were "exposed" is not accurate at all.

Not every team has the kind of speed the iggles do on either side of the ball.

What would you call it? The defense could not get any consistent pass rush, the secondary showed their vulnerability to the big play is still there, and their defense knows to clog up the line and blitz Ryan into panic. In my mind that's EXPOSED whenever a team exposes your weaknesses/vulnerabilities. Now every team may not be able to do it because they don't have the speedy RB and WRs, but once again Andy Reid showed the Falcons how to keep a team off balance all day. Andy Reid took advantage of a young, over aggressive defense and used it against them.

Kinda like old times. But I believe this team will do better in spite of our offensive problems. In other words, we won't continueously look this bad.

But we are far from being a great team cause of our offense.

As long as we continue running out of bunched formations against 8 and 9 man fronts teams won't change how they defend the Falcons. Mularkey and his desire to run against a stacked box come **** or high water kills me.. Teams only have to cover 10 yards of the field when defending the Falcons which makes scoring darn near impossible unless it's a big play.

If the run game stalls the Atlanta Falcons are done and until Mularkey learns to run out of different formations and get creative it will be much of the same on offense.

Would love to bring Norv Turner in, when he gets fired as HC. He may not be a good HC, but he is a good OC. He made Alex Smith look good.

i know the bengals arent a good team but any given sunday the worst team can be the best team. the falcons cant just waltz into this week game and expect to beat the bengals and win. bengals coming off a bye week the falcons have to be discipline this upcoming sunday and play smart in the secondary.

the things the defense got beat on is notsomethingevery team is going to run, i mean we got beat today with gadget plays, the only thing i kno for a fact we need to work on is our LBs need to find a way to f****** cover ppl.... this is the same weakness last year, none of our LBs can cover, weather its a TE or a WR running through our zones, for which we ran a whole bunch today for some reason..... this team just seemed scared to play, or should i say they played to not get beat, instead of playing to win.....

I wish, but I doubt Jorv Turner is going anywhere. The Chargers always start off the season lackluster and slow and then somehow knock a team like the Colts out the playoffs that same season.

One thing that we need to do more on offense that every other team does is confuse linebackers/man/zone every coverage by running routes that have receivers pull the defense out of place and walah! an open reciever. I watched several games today where big plays happened just by these simple routes.

MM needs to figure his stuff out. How do we get playcallers in Georgia like MM and Bobo?

We finally have a team for a couple years, lets make sure we use it.
