Falconsfan567
We've got to get back to starting fast. In 2008 when lead the NFL in points scored in the 1st quarter with 114 or 7.1 ppg. In 2009 it dropped off to 78 points or 4.9 ppg. This year we've scored a total of 14 points or 2.8 ppg. in the 1st quarter. Until we get that turned around we will continue to have nail biters on our hands. And BTW when we've scored in the 1st quarter we've scored 41 points and 27 points. When we haven't we'ved scored 9, 16 and 20.

If we start off slow against a good team like the eagles, we will get beat. Gotta Start Fast!
JRid
I have been thinking about this lately too. We were all about scoring quick and we can't seem to do it anymore. We need to get back on track with scoring early. We need to get touchdowns this Sunday too because the weather report I saw said there will be rather heavy crosswinds in Philly. We don't want to have to kick as many field goals in those conditions.
vel
Is it ironic that the two teams we started fast against were 4-3 teams and the teams were took a minute to gear up against were 3-4 teams? Yea Arizona is a 3-4 team but they run a lot of 4-3 looks. The Steelers, Niners, and Browns are straight 3-4. I think with the return of Jenkins we will see our offense take advantage of a weak Eagles defense that struggles equally at both the run and pass. I'm hoping we put up 35 to cover the 34 they put up on us.
Atlsport
I don't mind the nail biters at all. I enjoyed them before, when we would lose them ( I just hated the outcome, not the games) but I'm enjoying them even more since we are winning them. Falconsfan567
Well the past 2 games we have came out and scored touchdowns on our opening possessions! We're back to 2008 form! We need to keep that up against the Ravens.
Falcons_own_nfc_south
Falcons are the Second Best team in NFL in 2nd and 4th Quarter behind Colts.

The last 2 we let Cincy and TB get back into it when we had the chance to really put them away at certain points. Obviously Baltimore is a much better team than either of those but wheter it's Special Teams plays, offense going conservative, D playing soft...we can't let that happen Thursday. I wish Mularkey would get that cut throat killer instint.

They couldn't drive on us until the end. We put up 27 points. I'm sorry but that will beat plenty of teams in this league.

But we had the ball inside their zone after the onside kick and did nothing with it then we got the interception of Freeman in their zone and did nothing with it. If we score touchdowns on those 2 possessions than that makes it a 3 touchdown difference and we wouldn't have been forced to hold our breath at the end. Heck even just 2 field goals there makes it 33-21 and an easy win.
