JHav
Suspended Florida receiver Chris Rainey was back at practice Tuesday, and coach Urban Meyer said Rainey will have a chance to rejoin the team if he meets certain conditions. Meyer said Rainey would not play this Saturday against Mississippi State, but there's a chance Rainey could be back for the Georgia game on Oct. 30. Clearly, the Gators can use all the offensive help they can get right now. But bringing Rainey back after he was initially charged with felony aggravated stalking is a dicey proposition and a move that would open Meyer up to all sorts of scrutiny. He's drawn a line in the sand in the past when it comes to any hint of violence toward women. Rainey sent a text message to a woman he had dated that read, "Time to die [expletive]." The woman was adamant that she didn't want the charges pursued against Rainey, and he agreed to a plea deal two weeks ago on a misdemeanor charge that will be dismissed if he avoids further trouble. Rainey, who was arrested on Sept. 14 and hasn't played since the South Florida game, apologized for his actions in a statement released by the university. Again, the Gators need playmakers on offense. In particular, they need somebody to give them some explosive plays down the field. And when you're 11th in total offense in the SEC and mired in a two-game losing streak for the first time since 2007, maybe it's time to take a chance. That's what this reeks of with Rainey.SourceBoy oh boy

Testasparo
Maybe he'll provide a spark to our offense. Although I don't know how he'd actually be able to do that. Time to die MSU!

Threepac Daddy
like i said he'll have to earn the spot. he has maned up to what he did and time to move on. by this team next week we'll be talking about another dawg arrested for drinking related charges Edited October 12, 2010 by Threepac Daddy

Its kind of hard not to man up to what you did when they release the phone records to the press and everyone knows exactly what you said and did. There is no honor in this incident. He didn't confess to what he did. Besides jabs at incidents like this, Georgia fans have no room to talk about program discipline though. Florida fans have no room to talk period. capologist
“I am embarrassed and sorry for my actions and I apologize to everyone that I affected by my behavior,” Rainey said in a statement. “I’m working towards being a part of the Florida football program again, and I realize that representing this University is a privilege. I have spent the last several weeks reflecting on my actions and realized that is not who I want to be.” He may be practicing with the team but he's not playing this week and no time table has been set for him to return. I don't know what the conditions are but there's no doubt there will be no 3rd chance. I do like that the quote I posted above shows that he takes responsibility for it and not blame others for his actions. He got a 5 to 6 game suspension more than likely and I think missing half a season is a good penalty for a kid that's never been in trouble especially when the victim didn't want charges brought against him... Gritzblitz 2.0
Good for the Gators. Lord knows they need the help on offense. That being said, if he goes on to hurt someone as a member of the Florida football team Urban Meyer should be immediately fired. I can has gators roster spot now? Rainey needs to be beaten with a 2-4 until he learns how to treat a woman. Then, he might be allowed to clean towels for the team for a few games, and perhaps have a chance to get back on the team next year. UF culture: Can you play? If so, do whatever you please off the field.NOTE: In order for Urban to properly evaluate my request for a UF scholly, I would like to point out that:1. He squirmed quite a bit before he croaked....BUUUUUTTTTT2. I run a 4.2 40 and;3. I have spiderman like hands; and4. I am an explosive kick and punt returnerIn the light of all that, clearly, I deserve a 2nd chance to show how I'm a changed man, by playing for UF

Would hate to see a total lack of accountability, or anything.

And really, if they were going to bring him back in hopes of not losing it would have easily been before Bama and definitely before LSU before worrying about the leghumpers. Mr Pickle1
cap dont argue with them, they have their blinders on.Time to die, blinders. UF fans trying to defend either this move, or Rainey, are missing the point. Please read the article SAC posted. A UF grad wrote that. Someone who actively roots for the Gators. He's disgusted. He's beside himself he's so disgusted. If there's anyone in CFB just begging to have their knee and career casually shattered by a 4th string walk on special teams, it is Chris Rainey.
