On that TD play from Ryan to White

Usually on our PA attempts they are either A) one of those where Matt acts like its a draw but not really a "fake" in every sense of the word or B) we give a fake and roll out. On the TD, Matt gave the fake, stood firm in the pocket and delivered a perfect shot down field. Look, Matt Ryan may not be at the level of Peyton Manning or a top 5 Qb for that matter but he doesnt need plays where he has to cut off half the field. Those roll outs hinder him more than they help him. He is not MV or VY because he is not going to kill teams for overpursuing on the PA. Our running game is too good to have him keep rolling out on these dink and dunk plays. I hope we see him more on that type of play where he can stand his ground, make the read, and make the right throw. Just an observation

The greatest thing is that he had a "pocket" to throw from. The o-line did a great job on that play.

Yes yes yes. Great post.

Play-action should be a HUGE part of our offense.

I believe that Roddy can beat just about any coverage with a little help from PA, and if Ryan isn't rolling out, he can find him.

Here's hoping MM learns from that awesome play on Sunday.

I hope so too. Matt has a strong enough arm to make all the NFL throws. His arm strength is not a problem to me. But he does not have that Jay Cutler/Matt Stafford arm so when he rolls out we arm limiting our down the field opportunities. I would rather have him do a 5 step off the play fake and allow him to let it fly. Either that or continue our 3WR 1TE 1RB sets because he seems to excel in those

I swear on those rollout plays that Mularkey is having a Kordell Stewart flashback.

I remember that I hadn't seen that stupid waggle much this season and was very excited about that...Until we ran it 3-4 times against Cleveland. Maybe someone has the exact numbers, but I think Matt was 1-4 for 6 or 7 yards running that stupid play.
