muskokas finest ©
Can't believe that the Dolphins are so low, or that the Bills are ahead of anyone.Did the schedulers for SNF and MNF see this? Atlsport
Above the Eagles, Jets, and Skins? I don't know about that list...Harris is one of the top, if not the top polling agency. Their polls are usually accurate. The poll question was "What are your two favorite National Football League teams?"

The poll question was "What are your two favorite National Football League teams?"Ahh, I see. That can alter it a bit then. Especially considering our "story" over the past few years, that we're winning now, and people were asked about their 2 favorites...it makes a little more sense. paulitik
I'm not sure I buy that. It would be great, but I've met maybe 2 or 3 other Falcons fans the whole time I've lived in DC. I don't recall meeting many when I lived in Nashville aither. I guess maybe there are a lot of College Die-Hards that just stated that the Falcons were their favorite since they don't follow the NFl very close. I will admit, I was surprised how many I saw in New Orleans.
1989Fan
no chance. the Jets have more fans in NY than ATL has in the country.Heck, half the ATL residents arent even Falcons fans it seems.

However, it's not uncommon for me to meet Redskins fans who might say, "You know I kind of like the Falcons."
Atlsport
AJC has now picked up the story. (From AJC )Falcons crack 10 most popular teams list for first timeIt's amazing what a little fire and ice -- and back-to-back winning campaigns -- can do for a team's image. Two years ago, the Falcons, coming off the Michael Vick dogfighting scandal and another losing season, ranked as the 27th most popular team in the NFL, according to an annual poll by Harris Interactive. This year -- led by Michael "The Burner" Turner and Matt "Matty Ice" Ryan -- the Birds rank 10th, up three spots from 2009. Their previous high was 18th in 1999, the year they made their only Super Bowl appearance.Judging by the rankings, compiled from 2,620 adults participating in an online survey just prior to the 2010 season, pro football fans tend to be front-runners. The New Orleans Saints, fresh off their first NFL title, jumped from 24th to 5th. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks, following Jim Mora Jr.'s one-and-done head coaching stint, dropped from a tie for 14th to 31st (out of 32).There are a few anomalies. Despite coming off the worst season in franchise history, the St. Louis Rams jumped from 30th to 24th.The top and bottom spots remained consistent, with the Dallas Cowboys ranking first and the Jacksonville Jaguars, rarely seen in their own market because of league-imposed blackouts, coming in 32nd. The Cowboys have now finished first seven times, while the Jags recorded their fifth least-popular finish. When asked who will be this season's Super Bowl winner, 20 percent picked the Saints, followed by the New England Patriots at 11 percent. Only 2 percent of those responding chose the Falcons -- 2 percent more than in 1999, for what it's worth.
M0D3RNW4RRIOR
I love how the Saints jumped from 24th to 5th. That shows how much Saints bandwagon hoppers there are.

I've noticed quite a few bandwagon jumpers this year at the Dome, it's not a bad thing until they become irritating like the Saints bandwagon fans. aerosmith67
Above the Eagles, Jets, and Skins? I don't know about that list...Those teams all have die hard fans but don't discount the influence of NFL Sunday Ticket and channels like the Redzone/NFL Network. The regional influence will always be there but those Sunday Ticket commercials that show Dolphins fans living in the Boston area or a Falcons fan in NOLA are very realistic. DemDirtyBirds4
Shocking! There are none where I live. Here in WI I notice a few every now and then when I am out but not alot. A funny thing is one of the kids on my youth football team showed up one day with a Turner jersey on, I thought it was pretty cool. I always wear a Falcon jersey at Monday practice if we win on Sunday.
aerosmith67
This is actually very interesting as the Falcons are more popular now then they were in the first half of the 2000'sThe highest they got was in 1999 and 2005 at #
