Abe
It's hard to say who the best team in the NFL is, but it's not coming from the NFC. The Ravens proved they belong in the conversation by beating the Jets, the Steelers on the road and then the Broncos' No. 1 passing attack last week. Depending on their Monday night result, the Jets are up there, too, and the Steelers with Roethlisberger coming back warrant consideration.I don't see anybody comparable in the NFC. The Giants look a whole lot better after wins against the Bears and Texans, but I still don't think they're all the way back yet. The two 4-1 NFC teams, the Bears and Falcons, are unimpressive. Jay Cutler could still develop in Mike Martz's offense, but I don't like what I see so far. Atlanta doesn't have enough firepower on offense or defense to be considered elite yet. pzummo
No firepower on offense or defense?!? Roddy White is a top WR, Tony G is a top TE, and Michael Turner is a top back. No firepower on defense? We lead the league in int's. What more firepower on defense can you expect?
Sleepy27
he's wrong about our defense they are playing lights out imo. Offense I agree save your stats save the rankings b.s. besides the cardinals and saints games the d has saved our bacon.

paulitik
If he said, we aren't taking advantage of the firepower we have, I'd agree. but he's wrong, especially about the D.

slamee101
Yea, those Ravens looked so tough losing to Cincy and toughing out a win against Cleveland late at home. The Jets look so great tonight. Yet our 1 loss in OT to the Steelers means we're unimpressive.
didz
Jerome is so right. I mean we aren't the 400 yard passing team like the Cowboys are. I guess that's all that matters in the end. Throw a 400 yard passing game like Rivers or Romo and your elite. Oh yeah, their 400 yards still lost the game. What would I rather have? A 400 yard passing losing game? Or a team balanced win? Oh Jerome please tell me your answer. I like how on the teams he was on, their offensive power was running the ball, similar to the Falcons and he is hating on the Falcons for that. Typical hypocrite haters who don't realize that wins are all that matters. It doesn't matter how you win, but its about winning the game when the clock runs to 0:00. War Damn Eagle
Until this team starts imposing their will on the other team, I agree. They are not good enough to beat the best teams with their current offensive philosophy. They HAVE the potential, but it isn't being properly utilized. Blame the coaches, not Bettis. East ATL a.k.a TROLL
I don't understand why so many posters get upset when people in the media don't fawn all over the Falcons. Truth is the Falcons have not proved anything yet.

ATLfanatic
i think we're better than chicago but not by a wide margin. he didnt say we were better than them though he was just comparing the 4-1 teams. i think hes spot on. baltimore is a better defense, oline and wr corps ahead of us. with dickson pitta and heap alongside rice mcgahee boldin housh its ridiculous. they know how to take care of their offensive priorities in baltimore nowadays. we should take some cues. theyve been contending recently while weve just been knocking on the door. td take some notes. In the words of Deion, "The Bears are a different kind of 4-1"
