bigjmw84
Departures:Peterson 3.1Finneran 800,000Norwood 1.8Total Savings: 5.7 millionResign:DahlClaboNicholas Koenen-Franchise TagAs much as i like snelling, I dont know if we will be able to sign him. I say that because i think he has proven to the league that he can carry the ball 20+ times and be a big threat in the receiving game. Turner is making 6+ per, and Snelling can and will garner that much on the market if he continues his stellar play.Turner isnt going anywhere. I think we can take advantage of that situation and get a 2nd round pick in this draft thru a sign and tradeFA:T.Davis-Coming off a knee injury will bring his asking price lower and would add another hard hitter with cover skills. 5yr 30 mill 15 guaranteed. (Imagine Spoon,Lofton, and Davis as our LB core)James Jones-A very underrated receiver who is forced to take a back seat to Driver and Jennings.Dont forget Jordy Nelson either. He is a # 2 type guy who would thrive here. 4yr 16 million 9 mill guaranteedThis years draft is poor outside of the 2nd 3rd round. With the depth we have now we can afford to make multiple moves with draft picks to nab the quality players we want.We deal Snelling to WSH for their 2ndWe trade both 2second round picks and 3rd round pick to TEN for their original 1st We trade our 4th,6th and 7th for a 3rd round pick1st:Ryan Williams RB VT 5-10 210-We get a dynamic everydown back with homerun speed to go with Turner. 1st:Ryan Kerrigan DE PURDUE 6-4 265-A high energy TD guy who we could plug into the rotation. We release T.Lewis and move J.Anderson to DT permanately 3rd:Clint Boling OL UGA 6-4 305- Has been georgias most consistent OL since he walked on campus SEC 1st teamer.5th:Wesley Saunders TE USCe 6-6 270-Extremely talented TE who was dismissed due to NCAA infraction.Low risk High reward. Could be our Andrew QuarlesWeslye Saunders highlights Edited October 7, 2010 by bigjmw84
atljbo
Man i hate to beat down a draft but allot of this stuff is out there.1. A team would be crazy to give a guy coming off 2 ACL tears that much money... Thomas Davis will get a 1 or 2 year deal... For about 2 or 3 mil a year at best.2. I really like the James Jones signing.3. Snelling is only worth a 2nd round pick in some falcons fan eyes.. Dude is not going to get trade and his trade value is not high.... Heck Marshawn Lynch was worth a 4th would pick (3rd round offers thru the offseason)
Kennesaw77
Davis isn't worth that much money.Jones isn't worth that much money.Snelling wouldn't get more than a 4th back. Saunders won't fall to the 5th.
atljbo
Saunders won't fall to the 5th.Dude Sanders will fall that far... maybe even into the 6th round... The problem is there is no way in the world TD would touch him.
Kennesaw77
Dude Sanders will fall that far... maybe even into the 6th round... The problem is there is no way in the world TD would touch him.I know TD wouldn't touch him.I still don't see him falling that far. He was the number 1 rated TE opening the season before his season- long suspension. Mike Williams (T.B. WR) didn't play most of the year and was a 4th rounder. Mike Williams left the team.. The old ball coach kicked Weslye Saunders off the team... I heard dude is lazy and missed team meetings all the time.... Some of his team mates didnt like him...He is a talented TE but i know for a fact.. Dude is not going off the board until the 4th round earliest... I think someone will give him a chance in the 5th or 6th round

But I see your point. I wouldn't be surprised. I hadn't heard that and obviously I don't know him. I'll be interested to see how he interviews. I agree 4th round at the earliest. I'm just not sure if he will fall down so far. But bringing up Mccoy makes alot of sense.
alphaville
It's good to see different people's perspectives, so thanks for sharing. All I'll add is that RB in the first round is probably unlikely given that Turner is still under contract for three more seasons. For our running back position, I would instead expect they resign Snelling and draft a running back in the 4th - 6th round range. I wouldn't see a first round running back being drafted until the 2013 draft when Turner has 1 year left on his contract.
