RI Falcon
i can agree to that looking at the past corners he's played with. but you have to take things players say about their teammates with a grain of salt because theyre never going to say anything bad about their teammates. like with how much they always compliment jamaal anderson even though he never does anything haha
Peyton
The man recognizes talent. I think this defense is going to be freaking great by the end of the season if they just stay healthy.

RI Falcon
grimes is a beast and ive been on his bandwagon since day one! even when everybody was calling for his head.it is a shame how often people called for his head. i was with you on day one because although tall receivers were showing him up, he was ALWAYS step for step with them. he's by far our best cover man and im sure he could stick stride for stride with some of the best in the league

atljbo
Thats big ....I cant lie.. I wasnt a big Grimes fan atfirst but the guy has grown into a good CB... If he can improve his tackling ... Dude can be a very good CB for us...

If the guy is bigger than you, go for his leg and hand the **** on till help arrives. His coverage skills are great.
rightsaidfred
Well, now, you see.........this is a real problem here...........If these two guys are playing beside each other, then somebody is way out of position.............:unsure:Am I right?................... Dude can be a very good CB for us...Everybody knows I am the leader of the Brent Grimes fan club (not officially). But on this issue, I got to be honest. I don't think he is ever going to be a great tackler, because he is tiny. I mean, he is really really small and the Falcons lie about his height on their records, not doubt in my mind.So for all of the detractors who say "Grimes is tiny", I actually agree with that assessment. But that doesn't change the fact that he is a great cover guy, and he is able to use his leaping ability so tall WRs don't abuse him.The fact that he has become an outstanding cover guy keeps him starting here for years if he is resigned. His tackling deficiencies will have to be worked around, just as all players deficiencies are worked around in one way or another.

FalconFanSince1970
Grimes is definitely rising but he still has some issues.Mainly tackling and 15 yard in plays where he has to come up and defend. He lost his job four times because of that and has had similar gaffes this year.If he keeps improving he should be OK. If he doesn't he could be on a short leash because Smitty and BVG are a lot less patient now.Owens, BWill and Franks would definitely like to have his job. Owens mentality is physical.. Similar to Dunta Robinson.... But yea.. Grimes is the definition of a Cover CB... Grimes and Antonio Cromartie. It feels crazy to say but we might have one of the best DB groups in the NFL (or becoming that) .... I really like Dunta, Grimes, and Owens as our CB's..... Moore is learning and getting better... Now if Decoud get back on his game 100%.... We are going to be really good on Defense by the bye (im thinking we can be top 10 in every category)

Exact same size. Similar coverage skills, but Lawrence could tackle. And that was back when you had to be much more physical. From what I've seen Grimes can tackle. He seems to better on the right side though. We have him on the left side where he doesn't appear to be able to get his head on the left side of the defender. As soon as he does that he will rise. Dem Birds
LOL I would imagine, unless Brent was high school teammates with Revis or Aso or something.I dunno, Robinson hasn't looked like the best Grimes has played with. Owens last season looked better lol. Robinson's gotta get it going. I want to see an interception out of him. He and Williams are the only Corners we have that don't have one. And Robinson has been targeted plenty.

MagnusXXIII
My take on Grimes...He is underrated. He is a very good cover corner and has consistantly improved since his NFL Europe days (where he earned accolades). But he is not a "complete" corner in that he lacks physicality. That's okay though since there are very few elite corners that "have it all" and there are not many more corners with elite coverage skills (which Grimes is on the cusp of).Bottomline ... he has to be used wisely but Peyton is right ... he should have earned more fan support by now. We have a good aggressive D because of Dunta... The Coaches trust him so our D is able to be ran like BVG want it to be ran...I am a huge Owens fan but Dunta is the reason why our D is doing what its doing... Dunta gave up like 3 or 4 catches to Crabtree... The longest catch was for 12 or 13 yards last game... Why are yall acting like the guy is getting beat ?
