Unknøwn
Derek Lowe was named National League pitcher of the month Monday, for a stretch that saw him go 5-0 with a 1.17 ERA in five starts. Lowe allowed only four earned runs in 30 2/3 innings, while striking out 29 and walking only three. This is the first time the 14-year veteran has won a pitcher of the month award.Lowe is the likely Braves starter for Game 1 of the Braves Division Series Thursday in San Francisco.Lowe’s stellar month featured a career-high 12-strikeout game in a 4-0 win over the Nationals on Sept. 13, as well as a key win over the Marlins on three days’ rest this past Wednesday. He allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings in that game.
