Guest Gritz
We're playing another 3-4 defense....With the exception of the pasting we put on the Cardinals 3-4 we seem to struggle mightily against that defense, regardless of who we're lining up against.Don't be misled about the Browns. They beat the Bengals yesterday and lost a tough one to the Ravens.I don't think that there are any patsies left in the NFL any more. You have to bring it every week or you will get beat.Looking at the struggles that both the Saints and the Falcons had yesterday against supposedly inferior opponents I think the case could be made that there was a little bit of a hangover from their match in The Big Greasy. Our o-line played like it was tired.Just a few ramblings....... unconquered.
I agree. We can't take em lightly. Hopefully everyone will be refreshed and ready to go come game day.

I'd rate them more near Arizona's D. We shouldn't have too much of a problem with the Browns' defense. We've played three 3-4 defenses already this year. Familiarity will start to settle in. Statick
Plus we're on the road and the crowd will be hostile.. Should be a good game!I have a feeling the fresh air would do our team good this week. Nothing against domes, but its good to break up the monotony of seeing a roof from time to time. FalconinPA
I agree Gritzblitzer, the Niners game yesterday showed that no team can be taken lightly. I hope Ryan can go up there and lead us to a victory. Nothing says maturity like going on the road in a not so friendly environment and winning. Not just for Ryan, but the whole team. BCEagleATLFalcon
I'll admit it. I thought, after marching out of New Orleans with a win, that the next two games on our schedule were going to be cake walks. 4-1, here we come, I was telling everyone who would listen. (And, to be fair, we still do have an excellent shot at that!)But, I was wrong. My blood pressure wasn't prepared for yesterday. And I am no longer taking the Cleveland game lightly.I have a feeling that some of our players, no matter how much Coach Smith drills in his mantra of one game at a time, could write the exact same post I just did. falconidae
I thought you were going to say that Delhomme was starting:lol::lol:I think the way to beat the 3-4 is to go deep on first down- a couple of bombs completed to HD [or Jenkins?!] and the 3-4 opens up.Love to see a play action pass on the first play and a completed deep pass to HD for the TD. Karst41
I made a post about the 2010 schedule as being softer than last years. This years schedule and host a long list of very tough opponents.Cleveland while not having an impressive W-L record is mis leading. They could easily be 3-1 as we could easily be 1-3.Yesterday Clevelands 3-4 NT Rogers was quiet.Dont let that fool you.Shaun Rogers is the Beastiest NT in the NFL,and I have always enjoyed watching Rogers beat the snot out of Big Ben.This week my pleasure turns into pure Terror, because one Rogers is On,he can not be turned off.My suggestion to everybody is to look at the rankings per category on Cleveland. Offensive: Passing/Rushing Defensive: Passing/Rushing.The ONLY way we get a win against Cleveland is to have Smart Play Callingfor the entire 60 minutes. foreverfalcon
This will be yet another test of wills for the Falcons. Should we win, we continue to march along as (1) DIVISION LEADERS(2) Potential NFC Championship contenders(3) An NFC team able to notch another win against a team WE SHOULD BEAT! st4ngeI2
In teh NFL - take nothing for granted. After such an emotional win against NO, I told everyone not to take the 49er's lightly and we almost let them come into our house and win. Cleveland is no joke. As high as people were on the Bungles defense, they were able to dominate them. And don't forget what Hillis did to us 2 years ago when Denver came to our house. He is their feature back due to injury.
falconfanjason
Cleveland has lost three games by a total of 12 points. This will not be a cakewalk especially on the road. Falcons better bring their "A" game.
slamee101
No easy games in the NFL...sometimes they just look easier. Cleveland is far better than they were last year although their record doesn't show it. They'll be tough to beat at home.
falconsd56
We really did not struggle all that much with the niners D, we had some drops and misses when guys were open that stalled some drives.A lot of it was us shooting our own foot, like the first int. That said no game in the nfl is a gimme or a cake walk and we need to come out ready to fire on all cylinders. Bring It
The one thing I feel good about going into Cleveland is that we won this past Sunday when playing mediocre offense. Ryan was up and down all game. I think Ryan will be sharp against the Browns and have a great game. He's too good not to.Just a feeling.P.S. And.............how can we lose to a QB named Seneca ??? LOL
birds_till_death
Personally, i love playing the 3-4 defenses on the road and as much as we have so far this year. Most of the AFC's top teams run a 3-4 defense and the AFC teams most likely to make it to the big dance run a Ungodly stout 3-4 defense right now.this is the perfect storm ladies and gentleman. Let's face as many as we can and take our lumps now, knowing that we will more than likely have to face this exact style of defense to get where we want to be this season. NFL CHAMPIONS.I say bring it on. I hope they make it hard on us, i hope they confuse us, i hope they play tough. builds more character and just another learning experience for our team that can't be simulated. LOLThe fact that Ryan played lackluster enough to still go 6 for 7 with 90 seconds to go to get us in position speaks a lot about how good he is, even when he has what people consider a bad day. vafalconfan
Forget Cleveland..Any team that runs a screen pass has the potential to beat us. Our defensive coaches seem clueless wth stopping this exotic scheme from Landry's 1970's playbook..
Jay Z
Agree! No team in this league should be underestimated! If Atlanta wants to be one of the two teams playing in Dallas this year they need to treat each game like there playing the Saints! Bring It! Also Matty needs to clean his game up just a tad. Michael Jenkins needs to get his butt on the field. Do we have DE playing, because the DT are holding it down. SPOON!!! Looking good out there, get well ASAP! Ummm Dunta; Never mind! And William Moore Keep up the great work!
