Buzz: Latest NFL News (Jenkins note)

FWIW: Here's the latest NFL Buzz from Fox Sports, and it includes a snippet of info/speculation on the possible return of M. Jenkins to our lineup:

Jenkins nearing a return — 9:02 a.m.

The Atlanta Falcons have been without starting WR Michael Jenkins since he suffered a shoulder injury during a training camp practice on Aug. 6.

The seventh-year pro started limited practicing over the last week, so it's possible that he'll be able to play in Sunday's home game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Third-year WR Harry Douglas has been filling for Jenkins. Douglas is really a slot receiver, so getting back an outside receiver such as Jenkins should really help solidify their passing game.

It didnt look all that bad at the time, and they said 4-6 weeks.

It's been nearly 8 weeks now.

I really hate all the secretive injury info our team hides. It's the only complaint i really have about them.

Sometimes i understand the reasoning behind it, but most of the time it serves no purpose.

To this day, noone outside of Falcons Headquarters knows the real injury that Jenkins sustained.

I cant wait to get Jenkins back. Most dont see the big deal, but I think offense is only operating at 60-70% without him......could be scary (running and passing) with him back in!

Think about Douglas being back in the slot, so it is basically improving both WR spots.

Not to mention Jenkins could be the best blocking WR in the NFL. (him or Hines Ward)

As much as people downed Jenkins as a #2, seeing Douglas there for 3 weeks showed just how good Jenkins is. (no chance HD steals his spot there!)
