I Know it Way Ahead of Time, but on October 17th

The Eagles no longer have Donovan McNabb at quarterback. He had been a tough competitor for the Falcons. This intense NFC rivalry renews in the middle of the 2010 season.

Mike Vick you're going down buddy! Matt Ryan's offense and the Falcon defense will pluck all the feathers off yall bird butts....LOL!!!

Matt Ryan 25/35, 315 yards, 3TDs

Mike Vick 18/30, 290 yards, 3TDs

We win by a FG in OT again.....

This game has me worried more so than any other game remaining in the first half of our schedule. Never mind that MV is playing some great football. He is, and I'm sure he'll be at his best in that game, but the Eagles seem like a very good team all the way around and traditionally play us very tough.

But we got past the Saints on the road and can do likewise in Philly.

lol great way to counter your other thread...i think we win big, due to last year's embarrasement..

LOL....I don't think that most understand that I eat, sleep and drink the Falcons! Got my Tix for the Ravens game as a birthday present from a friend that knows how much I love the Birds...LOL! My wife and I will attend.

Exactly....The Eagles are always a tough team regarless of who's QBing. They keep a good defense. But this WR #10 is something serious...and Vick seems to know how to find him. But Ryan is about to open up his passing game with HD and Roddy is catching key balls! I was so impressed with the (2) 4th down catch and throws that we came up with. It's gonna come down to T.O.s. I think we'll win in O.T. Perhaps we can confuse Vick into some INTs....LOL!!

Fate is a funny thing.

I believe if MV had not gotten caught he would have continued to be a sub-performing QB who lacked dedication and seriousness required to succeed at the NFL level. He would have made exciting individual athletic plays and left us short in the course of a season.

Instead he gets caught, sees his world collapse in a way he never could have imagined, spent 2 years out of football in the legal system and jail, and a 3rd year basically on the bench in Philly. In those 3 years I now believe he listened to people like Tony Dungy and has matured as a person and a player.

I have said before it would be Atlanta's luck that this experience would turn Vick into the player he always had the potential to be, but ironically nothing Atlanta would have been willing to do to Vick externally would have brought about the necessary change.

Philly has LOTS of playmakers surrounding him on offense so if he sustains a play with his legs and continues to LOOK downfield as he scrambles he can be deadly. Hopefully Weatherspoon can act like Thomas Davis did for Carolina and Derrick Brooks did for Tamp against Vick as a spy with enough speed to keep him contained and then let the rest of the D force mistakes.

It will be interesting to see if Vick's maturity holds up when things go bad in Philly and fans start screaming for Kolb like they do anywhere for any backup QB after a bad loss.

Honestly, I don't Vick's success has much to do with him getting caught or not, as much as the system and the coaching that he's receiving. But you make some very logical points. Philly fans aren't that crazy and scream for Kolb. That would be like things going bad here and we go and find Harrington.

I dunno man, I think it had everything to do with it. Vick even admitted that he put no time into his game. I think the new system and weapons he has helps, but ultimately it comes down to him working on his game. I saw about 10 plays where Vick would have ran when he was here, but instead stayed patient in the pocket and got a completion.

Actually, it's both. He's given credit to having a second chance as well as being coached and taught how to effectively play the position from the pocket. He's playing better than ever, SO FAR, that's the key phrase.

Going to that game in person is a lose/lose for a Falcons fan I would think. If the Falcons lose, it'll be one of the most depressing losses ever to take as a Falcons fan. If the Falcons win, you'll probably get beat up.

So, a couple of my buddies are going, but I just didn't feel the need to take them up on the offer to go.

At least I'm not the only one...I look at the schedule and see Baltimore, Cincy, and Tampa (who is playing well this season) all in the Dome, I count them as good games but I count them as a win also, and lets not forget the Packers. I see the Eagles game as another statement game like the Saints. We win in Philly we worry these teams to come after.

I'm not one to look past any opponent (the last time i did was in 06 against both the Lions and Browns and we know what happened then). We do have a major opportunity to exorcise some demons with our schedule (We beat The Saints at their house for the first time in eight years, The last time we beat The Browns was in 93, and we last beat The Iggles in 05). I believe in the direction this team is going and we are in for some exciting times in the future :D .

Agree. I'm seeing our defense pick it up. We are looking good so far.
