(Captain Falcon)
it just ticks me off because all they are talking about is the missed fg. Nuthin is being said about how good the Falcons played, how we went in their home stadium and put it on them. Just was a tough battle it out game and Atl gets no respect. Just makes me sick. xXFlashFalconXx
I kind of understand you here but I could care less what the media thinks. I don't need the media to tell me what type of team we have. The Saints still don't respect us either. So what! Just got to keep it moving you know? crankdatfalcon
dude, calm down...its the darlings of the nfl..The superbowl champs. They will always focus on them regardless of the outcome.
Bring It
So what's new ??Nuthin' !!!Same ole, same ole.Watch the post game interviews on NFL Network.com with Brees and then Payton. Zero said about how well the Falcons played, how tough a game the Falcons brought, etc. It was ALL about them, the Saints, their mistakes, how they GAVE the game away. What do you expect from anyone who is forced to live in that sewer called New Orleans ??? They will always focus on them regardless of the outcome.Exactly. If we came and just tore the Saint's a new *******. They would say things like how it was "uncharacteristic" of the Saints to play like they played, or is unlike Drew Brees to make "mistakes" and throw 2 interceptions. Just makes me sick. You must have read my mind because that's EXACTLY the conclusion I'm drawing from the mainstream media pundits!! How about they talk about the missed PASS from Ryan to HD that could have sealed the deal LONG before we got anywhere CLOSE to a "missed FG" by the Saints!! We just need to KEEP WINNING and TAKE our freakin respect, if no one wants to give it to us!!! mindgame
I'll only be mad if they don't bump us up in the power rankings, I expect us to be either one ahead or one behind of Houston.
falconfiend82
It is ridiculous how nothing is said about how well the Falcons played but at this point you should expect it, especially against the Saints. Any time the Saints lose it's all about how they lost the game and not about how the other team won. Just watch though, I bet even if we put a beating on the 49ers like we did the Cardinals all they'll talk about is how the 49ers are distracted and not living up to expectations. On the bright side, we know how good the Falcons are and as long as they keep winning screw the media. Clowsephus
If it was reversed, and the Falcons missed the OT FG, then the Saints would have been "Champions finding a way to win". The reality is the Saints could be 0-3 at this point in the season. In judging them through the 1st three games, the Saints gave the Falcons the best game they could, even playing at home. Bottom line is the Birds won. Edited September 27, 2010 by Clowsephus

Just makes me sick.F' respect. We won the game. Anyone that feels sick after a win like that deserves to feel sick. And for what, because of the stupid media? I cannot describe how happy it makes me feel that people are sick after our win. There's only two types of idiots in the world that feel sick after a win like that, one of them is Saints fans.I don't really care who they are (Saints fans or anyone else) but I love it that people are miserable or sick while I'm too ecstatic to care what the media says after winning that game. Clowsephus
Sportscenter Falcons/Saints-Saints Issues on Defense-Kicking Troubles-Schefter on Saints InjuriesThere are Three excuses for why the Saints lost, just on the Sportscenter timeline right now. The thing that bothers me about this trend is its not a mentality of 'How the Falcons won', but 'Why the Saints lost'. Its fine though, because 27-24. Falc_Fan_Since_Six
Sorry but I don't want the Falcons to be a "media darling". The Chokealina Panties were a media darling for years and where exactly did it get them? Nowhere. For years, every year we heard how they were going to the Superbowl and they are still the same mediocre team they always were. Except now of course, they are less than mediocre. KANE337
It's like this because unless you are a Saints or Falcons fan most people just saw the highlights. The highlights emphasize the missed FG. Hence, that is the reason the Saints lost.
alphaville
I caught about 10 minutes of Colin Cowherd's show today, and he was singing our praises. I know he likes to stir it up, but he asked Trent Dilfer if it was possible that the Falcons are the second best team in Football (Steelers being the first, I think. I missed that when I turned it on).Well Dilfer completely laughed it off and said that it was all the kicker's fault. How he felt sorry for the rest of the Saints because now the Falcons feel like they are better than them because of the kicker. That was his entire review of the game. Then Dilfer went on to breakdown the Jets game with a fine-tooth-comb. sourdiesal
In reality a missed 29 yard FG in overtime is the biggest story of the game..Especially when it comes from the foot that got them to the Super Bowl last year..
=abrahamburger=
I'm going to quote Chuck Smith (talking about beating the Vikings in the 1998 NFCCG): "Ya'll didn't want to give us respect, so we took it from you."That's the way to do it. TdotFalcon
We are at the top of the NFC South in week 3. That's all I care about. They can give us some respect when we win the NFC South as week 14 wraps up!!
