nolafan33
First off let me say, the better team in today's game won. Neither team played their best game possible, but the better team today won. I don't know if the Saints just weren't motivated, as much as they normally are, if the short week troubled them. I do know one thing though, I really could careless what the reason is, a win is a win and a loss is a loss.On my ride home tonight I thought about what my post would be, at first I was going to give player evaluations but decided to keep it simple (if anyone wants to know my opinion on a certain player, lmk). In the Dome today, there was a lot of complaining about the refs, but here's the bottom line. A team that makes that many mental errors, a team that misses in all honesty a extra point, a team that can't get off the field on defense, doesn't deserve to blame the refs for anything. You take care of your business, and none of that other stuff even matters.I will say this though, the Falcons offense did a great job at keeping the ball away from the Saints defense. They were not going to let the Saints defense create another opportunity for the Saints offense, and it worked to perfection.Again, good game Falcons. You guys deserved the W, and you have my respect.

nolafan33
You guys played a good game too Nola. That game was CRAZYIt was a weird game. You can't say this often, but the Falcons were lucky to escape with a W, but if Hartley makes that kick the Saints are very lucky to escape for a W. I really don't know what to think about it. nuccah
Really the strangest game I've seen in a long time. Each team matched the other time and time again. Mistakes and odd occurrences flying. That being said, this is going to be one **** of a race to the finish line. I don't think there are any teams in the NFL with the grit we saw yesterday from our teams.

I really don't know what to think about it.it was a war in the big easyyes the missed kick was bigbut dont be to hard on your STyou were kicking our azz in that phase all game long, your ST set up your O in the red zone Twice and led directly to 14 Points...Falcons are on Top of South, But Saints are so good, we have to keep winning to keep pace with them....i wanna tip my hat to M Ryan thothe man came to play , and looked liked he took a step in being a great QB....still alota season left , i know saints wont just hand us South Crown without a fight...but yea this was a classic game in the storied Rivalry ....Falcons babyLeaders in the NFC South

nuccah
I wouldn't worry about it, if Ryan doesn't miss Douglas for that easy TD in OT, then Hartley wouldn't have even got the chance!Am I the only one that heard the commentators mention that Douglas was slowed down by contact earlier in the route? Quote:"Patrick Robinson got the subtlest of shoves out of the break on Harry Douglas to slow him down"That lead to Douglas being just that foot short of the ball. falconidae
Thanks for the props Nolafan.Great game, what's really fun is there's one more this year, wouldn't be surprised if there's a 3rd meeting in Jan.Next few years should provide many more great games as well- Brees will play at an elite level for several more years, Ryan looks to be maturing into an elite QB himself. Laugher
I was buying into this thread until I read this informal form of an excuse. The truth is if Ryan doesn't miss Douglas on the deep corner route (he was wide open) and he overthrew him then Hartley doesn't even get that chance so that is lame anyways. The truth is the saints got beat where it hurts the most, in the trenches. If you can't run the ball (saints 43 yards) and can't stop the run (Falcons 202 yards rushing) at your house, then you are not considered a championship caliber team. I ask you nola, is it a lack of talent, or has Payton fallen in love with the pass again and abandoned the run? For your sakes you better hope he goes in and watches film because the saints were unbalanced today, and so far all season, and we know where that got them in 07' and 08'. Not sure what is going on with the saints but Payton needs to get this corrected. What do you think about Turner and Snelling nola? Probably the best one two punch in all of football! Why you have to ruin a great post, if this if that, if Henderson doesn't drop 3 wide-open passes we may have a different outcome. Take your win we are here telling you good job.
nolafan33
I keep coming back to that underarm pitch from Drew. Saints are driving and that happens. I don't know what he was thinking. If that doesn't happen, it's a different game.
ki46dinah
After watching the Saints first 3 games this season...I will say that Malcolm Jenkins looks like he has his s*it together. The guy is a hitter, and is improving in coverage. Not bad for a convert...I think you guys will have a very tough secondary for quite a time to come.Thank goodness you have done little to help your LB's(and injury certainly doesnt help either). I really don't know what to think about it....and if Elam could have made a kick or two last year the Falcons might have beaten the Saints at least once last year. It stinks when a quality game comes down to a kicker.

saintmtillage
While I give him some effort for trying it wasn't exactly right after the game. It was way late in the evening before he posted this and then he tried to cheapen the win somewhat as he always does. He pooh poohed our running game which was the very fact we won the game. He also failed to mention the real reason the saints lost the game, in the trenches. The kid knows that but it hurts him too much to admit it!You ruin every thread you post in seriously. # 1 he went to the game so obviously the post would be later. # 2 you cant barely get on this board after a falcon game let alone post if you actually make it through (whats up with that). # 3 third down conversions was bigger than the running game and even falcons fans can see that. Congrats on your superbowl yesterday hopefully the falcons arent celebrating as hard as some of the fans are.

saintmtillage
Wow sm, the bitterness is jumping off the screen. Who knew you took these games so seriously? I bet you nola knew he had to post even if it wasn't until around 11 pm last night. Why you say, because the big talker knew the wrath of WFW. If your gonna play with the big boys in RC you gotta take your medicine! Btw, sorry for your loss. I think you know what I mean. This was apparently a deathblow to you and your team because this really shouldn't hurt so much, or if it does be a man and suck it up. Oh, and it wasn't our SB, just a division game with a team that we're better than, that's all, nothing more, nothing less!Im not bitter just get tired of seeing you post trash in a good discussion and on multiple threads. I shouldnt be surprised because its your M.O but its still annoying none the less. As always you are making a lot of assumptions about things. See unlike you we actually attend the games so its natural that we wouldnt post until late on a home gameday. As for your ridiculous rantings about the game it seems as though it was your superbowl the way some of your fellow brethren are carrying along but like I said in another post I get it. Your wins against us have been non existant lately and we won the superbowl so I guess you have to take the victories when you can get them.
