Secking
At what point does recruits start rethinking their status about coming to UGA? Do they see it as a chance to play early or as a sinking ship? This is what concerned me with 'silent commits', yes they could still jump ship if they are verbals, but most do not after they make it public.Secondly, someone help me out with that holding call near the end of the game. We were at the 25, they move us to the 40, not the 35. Is is a spot foul and then ten yards and kudos to Durham, he played well especially on the ones that were called back. On a brighter note, my 5 month old son still looks great in GA gear. Go dawgs
lex7500
I dont think we lose many of our commits maybe 1 or 2. But I do think we lose many of our "leans" or the guys we had more than a 50/50 shot with...
Gritzblitz 2.0
I'm sure they will lose Lemay if Richt is canned. Edited September 26, 2010 by Gritzblitz 2.
tjb
I'm sure they will lose Lemay if Richt is canned.that is pretty much a given, unless cmr isn't let go until well after the season since i think lemay is an early enrollee. plus, with the play of murray, woulnt surprise me

aPureTerror
Who cares about LeMay? He seems like another player that will get into trouble off the field...Don't judge. He's a young man that made a mistake like we all do. The only difference is that we all know abouthis mistake.
aPureTerror
We still have a chance to have a decent season. I would hope that recruits have more reason to want to be Bulldogs, to where they won't jump ship after a 1-3 start. Besides, they're not on the team now, hopefully the commits see themselves as guys that can come in and help fix the problem rather than run away like some of the "fans" do. unconquered.
I can tell you this...The Theus Brothers really enjoyed their visit today. Their keeping a close eye on the coaching situation at UGA and Gran,Fisher and Trick Daddy are all over them.
papi
Does it really matter about all these richt recruits if were not doing anything with them that adds to wins and SEC championships anyway?

His name is Rick Trickett...It's a joke dude lighten up. Its funny to the players because Trick knows nothing about rap or any of that stuff. He comes from the hills of West Virginia and is absolutely oblivious to what a Trick Daddy is.
kingjamez
None. All our commitments are solid, as of right now and barring any coaching changes.
GATX
It's more a question of what potential recruits we lose. As some of the other posters mentioned, the leans and other players we're still trying to convince are still potential "losses." Without them we have a decent to average class. We have to close to have a great class. After coming up a bit short with our last class, we really needed to close big ... especially with all the in-state talent this year.We already have some solid recruits and I think we're all excited about them. But to close with a good class and to bring in our elite targets that are still out there, we need to be worth a d-mn on the field. I thought we'd lose some games but be sort of promising and young but so far this season has been an unmitigated disaster. That does not bode well with our "down the stretch" recruiting. The only thing we have going for us right now is that there's still enough football left in the season that we can "finish on a good note" and still do ok with elite targets if we start righting the ship. Right now that IF is getting bigger. Edited September 26, 2010 by GATX

Even in a best case scenario (7-5, IMO) Richt is still on the proverbial "hot seat" in 2011. Unless we win out, I see no other scenario by which Richt's contract will be extended. Thus the long-term stability elite prospects crave seems out of the picture.

CMR and our staff can easily show uncommitted recruits they can play right away especially with the move to the 3-4. Offensively it's clear we need skill players and we need linemen. Crowell knows he will be in the rotation right away and he has a chance to be that special back in athens. The hot seat talk will be talked about over and over again with all recruits even if we won our for instance and went 9-3 (which we won't). It's part of the territory for a coach who has had some subpar years and fired a defensive staff. There is a lot more football left to play. Billy Ocean
Theus the younger was decked-out head-to-toe in UGA gear last week at the Ark game. It is very rare that you see that from a visiting recruit.

SacFalcFan
1-3 got you twisted huh. no not really, it's just the facts of the situation. cmr would have to leave on his own for the theus brothers to end up in tally and not in athens. how was it having 20k fans not show up for wake forest after your beatdown by oklahoma? i had a number of nole fans i know at the game who were quite upset with 20k worth of no shows for a conference game. where is all that enthusiasm by your fans?
