Faithful Falcon
Why has no one signed him? I am sure that we could bring him in for the future.

Falconsfan567
I don't know. Dude was drafted by the Seahawks and then beatout by Olindo Mare who was so bad he couldn't stick with the Saints when they were having all sorts of kicker problems.I remember Coutu being pretty good at Georgia. Don't know why he doesn't have a job in the NFL.
dmite
UGA's current kicker is way better.

Apparently, NFL coaches, including the Falcons staff, didn't see enough to give him a shot. Even though SEA signed him, he never kicked for them. True - he was good at UGA. Had to be something about him that we never got to see.
JRid
I heard an interview with him about 6 months ago and he said he just recovered from hip surgery.I think it was hip surgery. I remember thinking that must be why nobody picked him up last year. I never heard last season that he was having problems, but apparently he was. I really thought he would be kicking for somebody this season. I'm not sure what's up with him now.
NewFalcon
Why has no one signed him? I am sure that we could bring him in for the future.Perhaps it's because....he was really good for UGA, but sucks as an NFL kicker?Besides, everyone already knows that DJ Shockley was DA FUTURE...and he's been cut. stoned_jc7
When it comes to Kickers in the NFL, old guys always beat out new guys. Its almost the norm to accept a journeyman middle of the road kicker rather than develop a guy that showed a ton of talent in college.I thought BC did a great job at UGA, but I guess I will defer to the NFL scouts when it comes to whether or not he is ready for the big time. Cause a lot of proven guys lost their jobs after a few kicks... in ATL, DAL, WAS, CIN... and probably a few other places I can't remember. Coutu has gotten a number of work outs, including here and Baltimore. He got a shot in Seattle. I don't know the reason, but a number of different teams passed on him. He must be getting outperformed in try outs. Yeah, he hit that 53 yarder awhile ago, but he must be missing kicks that other players are making.
