FalconFanSince1970
This was a beat down of epic proportion. Even worse than the SF09 beater. SF made mistakes. We just flat up ARI. Wow. Even though it was a blow out there is still good, bad and ugly:THE GOOD-The physicality meter was on 10-Turner is ready. Had some good runs-Snelling. 186 yards and 3 TDs? Any questions?-Oline played extremely well. Against a 3-4!!!-Ryan hit six different receivers. Gotta continue that-We ran a lot of 3, 4 and 5 wide sets-Babineaux had a great comeback game-Bryant is 5-6 this year after two more FGs-Spoon had a nice sack-Smitty and BVG are blitzing more-Busterson had a good hit on Stevens-Howling-This defense is flat out hitting-Brian Williams is playing well. Very good coverage-WillyMo is way better than Sportsfreak said he is-No third down conversions allowed. None-Feely missed another kick against us. LMAO-We dominated the clock-WillyMo had a nice pick and return-Finneran aint done folks. Trust me-Spoon is playing his position-Nice PD and hit by Grimes on Fitz-Roddy is on fire-Dunta had much better coverage this week-Fin punked Adrian Wilson. LMAO-14-3 in the Dome under Smitty, TD and Ryan. Any questions?-Weems was blasting safeties on the last TD drive-Nice pick and return by FranksTHE BAD-We are missing Jenkins on the deep routes-Gave up a KR for a TD that got called back on a bogus penalty-Another empty building? Wow-Two more helmets came off? DeCoud and Ryan. WTF?-The deep middle was open against a couple defensive sets. Better fix that-Ovie personal foul. Come on man-Coverage sack on Ryan. Get open WRs and TEs!!!!-Moore late hit. Plus one that didn't get called. Pull up bro-That announcing crew is terrible-Rodgers-Cromartie almost got a Polumalu pick on that out play-Still not connecting on the deep ball-Another failed end around. This time Baker's fault-Oline finally blocked a 3-4. The TEs still suck against a 3-4THE UGLY-Ryan fumble on a scramble. Tuck the ball bro-Baker three penalties. On one drive? Awful-Another Mendenhall miss fit TD run? You kidding me right?

Rai
Good insight, +1 as always. White is going to burn the Saints this week.
Falconcheff
A couple more "ugly" to add...Roddy should have caught his first throw in bounds. He wasn't concentrating to get both feet in.Dunta released Fitz to the middle wide open. Not sure who's fault that was, but since he missed preseason, I'd say it was probably his miss. Then to top it off, he ran alongside Fitz after the catch for about ten yards until someone else brought him down. This game started off badly. Thankfully we righted the ship fast. My father-in-law couldn't understand why I was so upset even though we were smashing them. I said, "We're good enough to beat mediocre teams when we make mistakes like that. But if we truly want to beat good/great teams, we have to cut out even those FEW mistakes."
birds_till_death
Even though the penalty on the kickoff happened away from the play and really wouldn't have affected the outcome, i can't call that a bogus penalty. Dude was mauled.Other than that, i can agree with most of the write-up.
Tandy
Thanks for the write up FFS70 - there are a couple of things which are interesting about the game. Here is the info on our line from last week and this week:Game1AVERAGE TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS REGARDLESS OF OUTCOME = 1.7 SECONDSLONGEST TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 4.0 SECONDSATTEMPTS WITH OVER 2 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 7 (15.9%)ATTEMPTS WITH OVER 3 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 3 (6.8%)AVERAGE TIME TIL SACK = 1.5 SECONDSATTEMPTS WHILE RUNNING FROM DEFENDER = 10 (22.7%)Game2AVERAGE TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS REGARDLESS OF OUTCOME = 2.2 SECONDSLONGEST TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 4.6 SECONDSATTEMPTS WITH OVER 2 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 11 (34.4%)ATTEMPTS WITH OVER 3 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 5 (15.6%)AVERAGE TIME TIL SACK = 1.7 SECONDSATTEMPTS WHILE RUNNING FROM DEFENDER = 3 (9.3%)Major difference here. The difference in 0.5 seconds average is tremendous. Still not league average or even close - but it was huge. The number of attempts with over 2 seconds went up 18.5% and the number over 3 seconds went up 8.8%. Again, those are huge improvements. You can also see he spent less time running from the defenders in this game. Had more time to make the throws. He even took some deep passes into the end zone - over threw them. They have to practice that a bit more - and they'll get it down. When they do ..... Yeah, baby!As for Ryan's helmet - it was pulled off - and while they didn't show it on the television, on the big screen - they showed both sides. He was not only pulling it off from the back - but his other hand clearly had the face mask and was pulling on the other side - that's why it came off. DeCoud - different story.I was disappointed in the number of fans there for the first home game of the season - but I figure they are the real losers in the deal - because it was a great game to watch live - lots of fun and full of action!Moore - I wouldn't worry too much - seems to be catching on well. This was his first start.
Leon
the good is great, the bad can and should be fixed this week. the fouls and and the hightower TD is frustrating, and evrybody in my house and all my nighbors heard it

mcsupersport
I loved the Hit Grimes put on Fitz, and the attitude he got back up with. Man he was struttin when he got up, after laying the wood on Fitz. Probably the best hit I have ever seen by Grimes!!
Finally
Nothing like watching the Cardinal players look up at the clock at various times in 4th and from the look in the eye it was undeniable what they were thinking... "Is this game EVER going to end?"
FalconFanSince1970
Talk about late. Would you like to volunteer to contribute to my GBU series to help get it out sooner? Feel free. Thanks to Tandy and Cappy for the comments. It's true folks. It takes time to do something like this. Same for good posters like Falcon057, Jbo, Gritz, Rev Hal, Finally, BCE, Cappy, Tandy and many more that try to do weekly updates of Falcon info.We do it because we love the Falcons, not because we get paid. All of us should be getting paid though. LOL. If we don't take care of our main priorities then neither one of us will have a computer or a hi speed line. Trust me. falcon057
+1 nice read Thanks for taking your time to post a true overview of last weeks game.I believe all remaining questions and concerns will be answered this week loud and clear. We are a different team than the one they faced last year. We have so much more depth as to the last 10 years in key positions. We will play hard and fast this year and baring any mistakes we will all be singing Monday. It ends Sunday believe! phattywankenobi
I was at the game and forgot to record so thanks for the breakdown. I disagree on it being an empty stadium though. People come in late and started to leave in stages later in the second half. The club level (black seats) have looked empty for quite some time. That's OK, those are typically corporate seats given away to people who don't care about the Falcons so they can stay home.
falconidae
Good read- loved the physicality myself, actually bought a ticket on game day and got to see the game in person.Started feeling sorry for the Zona QB- he got all beat up. Want to see Brees getting the same treatment this week.
Tim Mazetti
FalconFanSince1970, this is another of the many posts that I have seen referring to bogus penalties called on the Cards. I watched the game in a tavern on a fairly small TV, so didn't see what the refs were calling. Were the refs really that bad?

Both teams struggled with the NFL rules.Even though Boger is a friend of mine I believe his crew called a good game.Yall know me. I stay objective. Refs were good. Both teams were a little sloppy. atljbo
Yea... Last week was a good week... I'm just glad William Moore is showing his potential on the field... So many Falcon fans was so willing to give up on the guy during the preseason... The guy is a player... Just have to stay healthy and continue to improve.Cant wait to see us play the saints on sunday.
Duff_Man
Here is a Cardinals "Ugly":Late in the game, with the Cards getting hammered, the Dome started blasting "Apache" by Sugar Hill Gang. The Cards kick returner (the "Not Top Ten" one) was in the end zone dancing to the song. Happened right in front of us. Yes, it was funny, but that's just shameful. That's about where the Cardinal's players' heads were in last week's game. Long season ahead for them.
