Time to start the bandwagon up for this awesome RB.

Enter Shane Vereen. Known best for spelling former Cal runningback (and now Lions rising star) Jhavid Best. Now HE'S the feature player and rising in his own right. He's got a low center of gravity with stellar speed and vision. If he declares then he's my first round choice for us. I understand we'd still have Turner and Snelling, but Snelling is merely a quality back-up and Turner is injury prone himself. Vereen takes hits very well.

Vereen is only a JR. so this is all a bit too soon to assume he will come out.

Um what? 100% of the mock drafts out have A.J. Green, Michael Floyd, Johnathon Baldwin, Ryan Williams, Julio Jones, Marcel Dareus....the list goes on, guy.

What are YOU talking about? Shane Vereen can very well declare. He already has 426 yards off of just 76 carries to go along with 6 touchdowns. Not to mention 2 receiving touchdowns. Splitting time with Jhavid Best last year he had 950 yards, 12 TDs and 25 catches with 2 TDs.

The best thing about him is is vision and speed. It's very impressive.

It's still rushing to conclusions. He may not come out that's just fact same with any of the guys you listed.

Please find me a mock draft that only uses seniors.

You're telling me I cant support this guy because he's a junior?

Your argument holds no water.

*rolls eyes* relax Mr. defensive.

I'm not saying a mock draft only has to have Sr's in it. I'm saying that being a RB doesn't help him. He would be better off staying and then coming out for his senior year. Very rarely do RB's go in the 1st round and I'm not sure Vereen would even be one of the top 5 RB's picked this year.

Well you are posing arguments that dont make sense. In fact, your "very rarely do RB's go in the first round" comment couldn't be anymore wrong.

2010

#9....CJ Spiller

#12...Ryan Matthews

#30...Jahvid Best

and the 4th pick in round 2 was Dexter McCluster.

Let me continue...

2009

#12...Knowshon Moreno

#27...Donald Brown

#30...Beanie Wells

and for good measure...

2008

#4....Darren McFadden

#13...Johnathan Stewart

#22...Felix Jones

#23...Rashad Mendenhall

#24...Chris Johnson

again...what are YOU talking about? The league is a two-back, sometimes three-back system now. Runningbacks are in high demand early due to the idea of having young, fresh legs to take the load off of older guys. It's evident that Turner is not as explosive since he had that strenuous 300+ carry season. Jerious Norwood is all but finished with this team, and Snelling is more of a role player back albeit a darn good one.

We're going to need a runningback. A change of pace back that is speedy, has hands, but can grind out those tough yards too. Shane Vereen is that guy.

again you're missing my point? Only one of those years did 5 RB's go in round 1.

Meaning my point still stands not alot of RB's are 1st rounders. (as in more than 4 per draft)

So it's very very possible Vereen won't be a 1st rd. pick meaning he should probably stay for his sr. yr. that's my point.

In addition to that their is plenty of time for him to splip or other RB's to pass him.

Again you can say that about any player in the draft. They can all rise or slip. For example, who the heck saw Ryan Matthews as a high first round pick?

The point is if you keep producing and have intangibles like Vereen does then a first round pick could be warranted.

I predicted it.

It COULD be but when you're a junior you want something a little more sure then maybe.
