vafalconfan
I read some other comparisons to Jamall Anderson and those are valid, but Sunday watching Snelling hit that crease and keep those feet churning brought back memories of the great William Andrews. I know some on here did not see him play live and have only seen clips, but he was so much fun to watch and he finished every run. The other similarity is that both were blocking fullbacks in college. Just thought I would share this thought.
delaigle
Yea Snelling reminds me more of Andrews than he does Anderson.BUT please do not use the "===" equals marks quite yet.I do have Hope.

I see where the comparison is warranted, but are you really saying that Snelling is as good, or are you saying he is as valuable? I think Andrews was the best RB in Falcons history. Dedsquirl
I LOVE me some Snelling, but let's not get carried away.I think it is fair to laugh about how we are getting everything we ever wanted from a 1st round Duckett in a 7th round Snelling. But Willie is in the Ring of Honor. peoriabird
He definitely needs to be used more in the offense than in the past when Turner and Norwood were healthy. It brought tears to my eyes to see Atlanta running screen passes with him. And he has nearly flawless timing running them.
bige
Could be.Andrews was a blocking back out of Auburn who lit it up.Same could be said of Snelling every chance he's gotten.
redwolfcfc
Not equal to yet... similar in skill-sets. Andrews wasn't just special he was VERY special. But I know where you are coming from. I love Jason's game. He can run, he can catch, he can block, he probably even makes a mean omelet. He is an inspirational over-comer type of guy too.William Andrews was just straight awesome and one of the best Falcons players EVER. I loved that era of the true two-headed running attack from the I.
ATLballer
i actually got pissed off when I saw the title of the thread..Please don't use the = sign when it comes to snelling and W Andrews...Personally I dont think Jamal Anderson can holdW Andrews jock let alone Snelling..I do hope Snelling will turn out to be a good running back
RDCLARKIII
.Personally I dont think Jamal Anderson can holdW Andrews jock let alone Snelling..I do hope Snelling will turn out to be a good running backDitto.....Jamal is not in the same zipcode as W.Andrews ......I hope Snelling continues on the path he's on now. Everytime he's in there, he produces....
NewFalcon
At this point in his young career, I think the only valid equation is Jason Snelling = Jason Snelling. He's answered the call whenever he's gotten in the lineup and he's got great potential, but let's not get too caught up in comparisons to any of the great RB's until Jason has a few more highly productive years under his belt.Love where you're coming from, I just think it's too early. But,.. if he keeps getting the carries he might be the 2.0 version of William Andrews. I think the kid is special.
pr0d1gy
All I want to see out of Snelling now is durability and the same effort he has been giving us every game he plays in. Our RB situation is beginning to look like YKW and Schaub a little while back. I say we keep the lower drafted guy this time, long term of course. ratesforless
As a guy who saw William Andrews de-cleat tacklers on the way to the end zone, I would say sllllllloooooowwwww down with comparing Snelling to him. At least for the time being.Andrews is the best running back to ever don the uniform with Gerald Riggs second. I love Jamal Anderson and all but he couldn't get William Andrews a cup of coffee. No need to go any further because all I'll do is get steamed over Dan Henning deciding to do live tackling drills the week before the '84 season starts.... mountain_jim3
Well I watched Andrews running rampant thru defenses in high school, seeing as to how he was in my class at Thomasville High in 71-72.

Imagine a running back who averaged +4 yards per carry that seemed to pick up at least 4 yards every single time he touched the ball. He was that consistent.
