Since Snelling has proven he can catch the rock...

Sad to say, but MM didn't know how to properly use Norwood, but if he plans to use Snelling like he planned to use NOrwood it will actually work better.

MM plans with Norwood.....

1) Runs up the middle, between the tackle.

2) Screens to the flat, hoping the defender misses.

3) Blocking on passing downs for extra protection on deep routes.

4) Short passes near LBs.

5) Sweeps to the outside.

Well if you look at most of these, Snelling does just as good or better on most. He has the power to run up the middle. Decent speed and also power so the screens and short passes make him hard to tackle. He is bigger and actually blocks better than Norwood. The only one that might not work as well is the sweep to the outside, but then again, he isn't exactly slow and his power may overcome so of the edge tacklers.

So MM needs to just use Snelling in the offense just like he was planning to use Norwood, and he will probably keep getting great results like in the Arizona game.

Go Falcons.

Well he has shown we will throw screens. But heres the thing while we would love to see a screen that breaks loose for a td as does MM, MM also would love to not have to use that screen until 3rd and short in the 3rd or 4th qt so when it works and we have the lead or tied for the game.

Because if we use it early and we are down, tied, or have the lead that doesnt mean the saints have to respect it because while they know we will use a screnn they will probably feel as, if they make it a 2 posession game what will a screen do? give them a 1st down? we have a 2 posession lead we will keep bringing our big time pressure becasue they cant throw a screen every play.

MM will use it at the right time, I feel that the right time will be if we are tied or are leading and its either laste in the 3rd qt or in the 4th qt. If you use it then and you have the lead or its tied and its late in the game then that pressure HAS to back off because now every 1st down you give up is to valuable and a TD late means down 7 late or down 2 possesions late.

I have faith that he will use a screen, maybe even 2 but I believe it will happen at the most crucial time in the game.

Becasue lets face it, MM doesnt believe we need to run screens to be productive, he hardly ever ran them last year, and now thats its on tape the saints will have to game plan for it, but if they only see 2 bruising RB's cominbg at them all game long and then boom heres the screen late in the game.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this situation perfect for a screen. When the other team is blitzing? Get our o line out there on their secondary players.

Snelling is not fast enough to work the screen. He is actually really good coming out of the backfield on a dump-off, esp. against the blitz

Screens don't depend on the speed of the back. Screens only work if the blocking is there and Snelling is definately fast enough to run behind good blocking. Speedsters can actually outrun their blocking and be less efective. We don't do a good job blocking on screens or reverse's
