I forget if the segment was the top 5 defenses of the week or this season, but Baldinger picked the Falcons as #5. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, NY Jets, and another team that I'm drawing a blank on were ahead of them (might have been Tennessee).

He noted how fast our defense is and they cause opponents to make mistakes because of it.

Theismann went on to add Cincinnati to the mix.

All these "ratings" by the so called "Experts" means nothing.........nada..........zip.

The ONLY thing that matters is winning the games you play. Period.

If you need proof of this go interview Mark Richt, Bret Favre, or Wade Phillips today.

He didn't say it meant anything, $hit! No need to jump down his throat.

It's nice that people are thinking more highly of our defense though. Nice catch!

I honestly think it is. We finally have a good secondary with Dunta, Owens, and Moore helping Decoud.

Our linebacker corps only got better.

Our d-line is pretty stout in the middle and we have above average DE's.

Our last 4 games going back to last season the defense has given up 3, 10, 15, and 7 points.

This is the secondary combo I predicted in the preseason, and a lot others.

Our 3rd down defense is doin well so far...we have our hardest test this week.

We are currently ranked 4th in the NFL in 3rd down conversion allowed.

ive noticed that too. they are doind great to get pressure on the qb on third down. i have also noticed that they are flying to the ball when a screen is thrown, that was a big Achilles heel last year the dam screen pass

After the first two games we should be in the top 5. You guys forget to mention something they dont include in a stat sheet but I thing is really big, we've only given up an average of 1 touchdown per game. Say what you want about the quarterbacks/offenses we've faced but our big concern was our secondary and pass defense. Well we havn't given up a single passing touchdown yet this year either, and we've made four interceptions. TD and Smith said they wanted to improve this area, and I think they have. (Sorry for the long post, its my first post after lurking for about a year and I had alot to say)

I can't agree with you more. But it's still early tho and we have yet to face some of the best. I like that old

saying "one game at a time."
