Being realistic about the DE position

I really think we address this in the 2nd rd. But after further review there could be a problem. Right now I see

3 good 2nd rd prospects. Kerrigan, McPhee, and Jordan. But if things keep going the way they are going, we might

not get either one of them. Kerrigan could go late first. So that would push McPhee and Jordan up to at least

early 2nd to mid 2nd. Even if Kerrigan goes early 2nd I still don't think the other 2 will last until late 2nd

where I hope we will be picking. So who's the next best choice? I think Jeremy Beal or Jabaal Sheard. I'm not

including Romeus b/c I just don't see it with him having back surgery. I'm kinda eliminating Beal too. So would

we take a chance on Sheard as a late 2nd rd pick?

Any Justin Houston love?

Houston is nowhere near a 2nd rounder. This is from SI.

Sliders

Justin Houston*/LB/Georgia: Houston has done well this season when lined up in a three-point stance, yet NFL scouts project the junior to outside linebacker. He's struggled playing in space, is slow to react, shows poor instincts and misses assignments.

I don't think so, he just doesn't wow me. If he can't wow anyone when Romeus was getting all the attention on the other side, then he def can't do it on his own in the NFL. He is OK, but nothing special IMO. I would rather try and get Acho, Bruce Miller, or Beal. I don't think DE is as pressing as a need as I once thought. There are a lot of good seniors playing some good ball this year at DE so far. I am more concerned with WR and OT, then DE

If he can gain weight back he can play DE. Shoot I think he can without the weight. Look at Charles Johnson for the Panthers.
