It's too early in the season to for these stats to really mean anything. Also, stats can be very misleading. Remember: Liars figure and figures lie. ghoticov
It tells me we are only two games into the season.
txfalconfan
It tells me that we are 1-1 and need to win to keep pace with our 2-0 teams. Hopefully we will be in first after this Sunday. We play NO and TB plays PIT.

-Falcon4Ever-
Yea but what it speaks to me is that regardless of the views of many people the birds truly have a shot.and honestly if im a fan of the aints "high powered offense" i would truly be getting worried about now......just sayingBut most of all if I AM bringing out the stats its obvious im in serious need of some falcon football
Dirtybird1225
It's a little too early to get too confident. Just two games into a season. This Sunday will tell us a lot.

-Falcon4Ever-
Look until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs I will be positive we can achieve.Stats are just numbers but these definitely show a decline in their production. Our defense SEEM highly improved, and we played very close last year when none of this was true.So pardon me while I put on my rose colored glasses....at least until we lose. crowleycajun
As your fellow posters have said, it's too early to tell. Yes, you have put up 50 points in two games. But, 41 of them was against the #27 overall ranked defense in the NFL. Against Pittsburgh, the #6 overall ranked defense, you didn't even score a TD. For us, we went against the #4 and #7 overall ranked defenses and scored 25 and 14. It's still early in the season and anything can happen. If we win Sunday, that doesn't mean that we're going undefeated. If you win, that doesn't mean that you're the best team. It only means that someone was better that day and has bragging rights for a little while. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Quinton Ayers
It tells me that the Falcons are 1 or 2 teams to have not allowed a passing touchdown on defense this season.

I am not saying this will not be a battle, but I feel like this game is definitely winnable. I am stoked.
JayOzOne
It tells me that one player (Grimes) who is out of position on one play (50 yard dash by R. Mendenhall) can make all statistics moot. Miami lost a game to Indy last year when Indy had fewer than 30 offensive plays. Miami pushed the Colts d-line around and controlled the clock for nearly 40 minutes. The only stats that matter are the numbers in the "W" and "L" columns. Honestly I watch every game on a 60: 1080p hdtv, and i still miss why everyone is so down on grimes, occasionally he struggles with tackles, but his coverage is good. Pretty much everyone on our team are role players...meaning good in one situation, not so much in another. Grimes is not the best ever, but he is far from the worst, and imho more than serviceable. It's a divisional game and we know just about everything about each other, so these games are usually close. Would I like to see us blow you guys out? Of course. I'm waiting for that game that all of our cylinders are clicking together and nothing would make me happier than to see it against you guys. lol. We haven't done that yet, but again, we went against highly ranked defenses and we came out with a "W". So, I'm happy and also stoked for this game. One of our big bosses' daughter is a huge Falcons fan, so we've started going back and forth about this game. She sent me Falcons stuff in the mail, so I had to retalliate and send her Saints stuf. It's all in fun.P.S. I know that it will irritate some of you guys, but I can't help myself. WHO DAT! lol.
