Coach Smith, can you please continue to start William Moore?

William Moore's first game as a starter was a dang good one. He had some lapses here and there, but for the most part his coverage was sticky, his presence was felt and his intensity was high throughout the entire game.

William Moore is one of those guys that is just a gamer. You can put all the film you want to in front of him and he'll take it all in, but he will shine most when he's on the field and the bullets are live. He didn't look lost out there one bit.

I understand Eric Coleman is the vet, but the only thing Coleman provides that William Moore cant is NFL experience. If you bench the guy after a solid performance, you're not doing anything but slowing his NFL maturation process. He's not the type of guy that you should let sit on his hands for too long. Moore wants to be out there, and proved that he should be out there. There are plenty of young safeties that have recently entered the league that were put into the line of fire early and have shined: Jairus Byrd, Louis Delmas, even Morgan Burnett is showing out in Green Bay. William Moore can easily go toe for toe if not better than those guys.

Now I know we're about to face New Orleans, and having such a "savvy" vet like Eric Coleman out there is going to change the whole complexion of the game. But the fact of the matter is that William Moore is BETTER than Eric Coleman.

Coach Mike Smith, dont be a pansy.

That is all.

Not that Coleman has lit the world on fire, I still think he should start

over Moore. Moore has not faced a QB like Brees. Coach Smith won't make

a switch like that on the road in a big game IMO. Moore could cut

into Coleman's reps on the field though.

Eh, I am getting a little sick of watching RB's run past him. I would rather have 100% healthy, inexperienced Willy Mo than an 80% slow veteran in Coleman

I remember laboring on this topic during the off season.

There was a thread I responded to with a prediction that

Moore would beat Coleman out of his job at camp and "it

won't even be close". I got flamed and then Moore misses

camp so I understand Coleman starting. However, there

is a significant talent difference in Moore's favor.

This^^^^^ x 1000.

We cant keep sitting the guy thinking he's going to prosper from it. Moore needs extended playing time. Forget special teams. He needs to be on the field when the defense is out there as a starter.

Moore's athletic ability would be a much better asset against the Saints than Coleman's lost steps and subpar play. At least Moore has the athletic potential to make up for his mistakes.

im pretty sure coleman could go last week if he had to, so to sit him shows they wanted to see wat moore brings to the table.... and its perfect, u would want a first time starter to start at home, so he got that out the way, now he can just go play ball... i really think after that performance there going to make an excuse to hold coleman back and see how he really stacks up, weve invested a 2nd round on the guy, he's healthy so its time for him to step up and play like they want him to.... we all kno if he plays he is going to get targeted by NO, so y not see wat he can do, if he struggles we can always put coleman back in.....

I am pretty sure that SportsFreak said Coleman lines up the secondary so to see DeCoud do it shows that Moore is more of a heat seeker than a thinker at this point.

No matter who is wrong or right in this situation I like his energy and overall speed. I say take the collar off the dog and just point him in the right direction and let him attack!

I know we have a package to get them all on the field and with all of New Orlean's weapons it is bound to happen that they will see action together.

Okay cool. I thought that was DeCoud's job, but I stand corrected. Especially if SportsFreak said it.

But you gotta think that DeCoud WOULD call the shots if Coleman wasnt playing though.

I agree, I would rather have Coleman start against the Saints then let Moore start against the 49ers. Coleman has gotten INTs against Brees before, We need our most experienced against Brees and company. I know Witherspoons a rook, but in the secondary it means more. But in time, I want Moore out there, because hes Da future. ;)

You gurantee Brees would be salivating if he knew that safety was his 2nd game. Thats where he would be throwing the whole game. Moore would get experience in a hurry. ;)
