falconidae
Not saying they WILL win, but they CAN win. Two things-1.Ryan has to play a great game- no turnovers, lead the team to TDs instead of FGs. and 2. The front four on D has to get pressure on Brees by themselves. Those two things happen, Falcons can be the winner next Sunday.Looks like Bush is out for the game- which helps the falcons more than many posters here realize.I think the Falcons will score some points, not sure if the D can keep Brees&Co in check. I think there are too many new pieces on D to stop Brees, but we'll see.
ConnFalcon
I think they keys are not turning the ball over, and pressure on Brees.
crankdatfalcon
BVG needs to disguise alot of his blitzes and send them more than usual. This is not dennis dixon, or derek anderson. We SHOULD NOT ONLY RUSH 3 this game. Keep pressure on brees all night long, keep him guessing where the blitz is coming from, and occasionally drop ja55 or kroy back in coverage to stop that quick pass to the tight end or slot reciever. Bring It
Two things have to happen :1) Drew Brees goes on IR..........out of the game; bursts a blood vessel in his brain from screaming like a lunatic in his pre game childish war chant.2) They use refs from another planet who never heard of Hurricane Katrina. You need to blitz some because you want him to think about that, but what you really need is to get pressure without a blitz.
Peyton
There are lots of factors that will determine this game, but I think the most important is the Atl OL vs the Saints DL.The Falcons should be a good bit fresher than the Saints in this one. It's tough coming back from a west coast MNF game.I'd expect to see the Falcons giving the Saints a heavy dose of the smashmouth gameplan in this game. vabchbirdlover
Not that I disagree, but P.Thomas should be a major concern, dude seems to save his best for the Falcons. The Falcon's secondary will certainly be tested and like you say, the front 4 better exert some sort of pressure on Brees to take this from the Aints in their backyard. Drew will know who is coming but he wont be expecting the ends to drop in coverage to prevent those tight end passes in the middle of the field. Just like the superbowl a couple years ago with pitt and arizona, when james harrison dropped in coverage and got the pick6, thats what im talking about. SiViK_OuTkAsT™
I think we need to run a safety blitz early on in the game from Mr. DeCoud and refresh Brees' memory just a little bit.
Statick
Just tell JA98, Peria, Babs and Peters to get a good consistent push up the middle of the pocket. That'll keep Brees from stepping up and stop their little running game.Stress to the DE's and LB's not to overpursue, since they threw a bunch of different RB screens last night. SaintsWrath
It'll come down to Turn-overs and who controls the clock, this game is going to come to who win's it in the trenches, i also see a Offensive display about to happen this weekend, saints will be in the air a lot more than they have been, and we may be taking Chris Ivory off injury reserve and getting him suited up, there's tape on him from Preseason. Falcons and Saints are the strongest teams in the Division "so far" Buc's look to be a threat too but still a smidgen of what they were in 2002-2005 and are young and rebuilding..This will be a tug of war, dog fight, most of all exciting and fun game to watch..hopefully both teams leave virtually injury free and of course im going to say WHO DAT'S should win this game.. i wont expect ya'll to agree :-) Edited September 21, 2010 by SaintsWrath
slamee101
I think we have to make them pay dearly when they bring the blitz. Their D is feast or famine with this and as long as we can hurt them when they bring extra guys I think we'll be in good shape. Clearly, you can run on them.On D, we just can't let them hit the homerun.

Push the middle of the line. The interior of the defense is the key to stopping these guys. They need to be taught to read the screens, and to get their hands up when Brees throws. On offense, we need another solid game from the OLine, and need to PROTECT THE FOOTBALL. falconidae
Wrong choice of words, he's just inactive, he'll be placed active if he practice..OK, they can do that- I knew they'd put 2 RBs on IR this year, thought you were talking about one of them. DavyDmx
We have to set an aggressive tone and make Brees have happy feet everytime he snaps the ball. We also have to take more shots downfield and not make the critical turnover that seems to plague us when we play them.
