The playcalling of the 49ers right now is just plaing AWFUL. 6 plays, 5 runs. I understand trying to establish the run early but not against a team like the Saints, who is always going to put you in a shoot out. This is pitiful and will probably be an early night if things don't turn around.

If you have even minimal success that is exactly how you want to play the saints.Play keep away

I understand keeping the ball from the Saints but if you are running the ball into the ground, how bout throw it a couple times. You see they are moving the ball now that a few passes have shown up

The playcalling is fine.

The 49ers are a running football team---make no mistake about it.

Gore is their best player and they drafted two O-Lineman in the first round to further establish their identity as a hard-nosed, run-it-down-your-throat football team.

It may not be the offensive philosophy YOU prefer given the passing culture of the league nowadays, but it is their identity.

Also, the Saints do allow yards on the ground. They ranked 21st in rushing yards allowed last season.

As I was typing this, Gore broke off a 20 yarder, by the way. LOL

71 rushing yards in the first half. If it weren't for that fumble by Walker, the 49ers would've been going into the half with a 10-9 or 14-9 lead.

Barring the bonehead mistakes (bad snap that led to a safety and a fumble near the end of the half), the 49ers have done exactly what its needed to do on both sides of the ball.

Who keep shooting themselves in the foot and turning the ball over. They have had a GREAT chance to beat them tonight and I want to break something watching them screw it up.

They might still pull it off... But they'll probably throw an interception or something, or fumble on this kick off.
