We need a new receiver. Quick. Or some more work.

Yes. I admit. Finneran caught an outstanding touchdown Sunday. But how long can we be in denial about his Goal Post dunking ability? Can you imagine if we blow New Orleans out this coming Sunday. And he embarrases us, two or three times, by trying to dunk over the posts after his TDs? And gets slammed by the crossbar again like yesterday. We may win the game. But who will win the battle of the post dunking? They do have Henderson you know. Henderson might pick up a football after the Falcons return an interception for a TD. And dunk it over the posts just to show us up.....Brian. Work on your jump. GO FALCONSSSS !!!!!

TG is a bad dude when he dunks. Some people say he is having an off year. But did you see yesterday when that defender was trying to hang on to him after TG got past him? TG actually dragged him into the enzone with him. And it opened it up for the Roddy White Touchdown. TG is an allstar dunker though. And he'll be there all year long. Look out opposing teams.

TG has dibs on the post TD dunk. Finny had to settle for the lay up.

(Sorry. I was trying to put this on a reply to you. But put it on a post reply.) I'm not too great at posting.

He doesnt have to be. We have Roddy White, top 5 NFL WR, along with the next DeSean Jackson, Harry Douglas.

There is a ton of merit in what you typed.

Ryan really made a lot of attempts to get the ball to HD yesterday. They where not completly on the same page(etc deep miss), but you could tell when they hit it was soemthign the defense was not expecting.

HD will be our second split end on two receiver formations, and slot on 3 or more by seasons end.

Expect to see him get tons of playing time this weekend, and I even expect Jenkins better pefrom or he may find his way to number four on our roster.

Watch Finn on special teams, he is almost always the first person there. If you are not a 1 or 2 receiver, you better have other talents and I think this is why Finneran is still around. He hustles and is a good blocking receiver, plus valuable special teams. I wish Jenkins worked as hard as Finneran because I think Jenkins has more talent, but Finn seems to work harder!

Fin and White are the only two receivers we have who attack the ball well in the air, using the bodies and verticals to beat out defenders. Those are the type of receivers you throw it to when they have one on one type coverage.

Jenkins was drafted to do that, but he has yet to start attackign the passes and chooses to be a north and south threat with his feet.

although Weems really made some nice plays in the week 1.

finneran is an all time falcon great to me but really, do you think hes better than housh boldin jackson or any other better receiver we've passed up?

I'm not saying he's the best in history. But he does everything he is asked to. I don't remember him dropping a pass (not that he hasn't). And he gives it all 100 percent of every game he is in. Never gives up on a play. Catches, blocks, decoys, special teams. He brings all he's got. Not just for himself (like that Jets reciever that kept taunting every time he caught a pass and getting penalties.) but for the team. He is a great player. Maybe close to the end of his playin days. But great nonetheless.

It seems pretty obvious to me that everyone here is a Falcons fan. That being said, I'm about to say something that may not be very popular. I think that it's time for Atlanta to let Finn fly off onto the sunset. Although we played great this past weekend, we're all hoping that they can maintain this as long as possible. We also have to admit that we have a lot of dead weight on the sidelines on gameday. 1). Finn has played like a champ so far, but how long are we going to be able to depend on a guy that's blown out the same knee twice and his best season was eight years ago. 2) Ryan obviously doesn't trust his other receivers, because he only grudgingly looks at anyone other than White or Gonzalez. 3) Meier was supposed to be Finn's replacement and that seems to be true, blown knee and all. 4) And most importantly/disheartening, shouldn't the recent success of the Aints be an indicator of what could happen if you invest in some stud receivers and get a little creative.

f*ck you he scored 2 points with a lay up.

Good point. But Tony G woulda drawn a foul !!! hung on the goal post and made it a 3 point play !! The Celtics woulda never been able to come back from that dunk !!!! Even David Sterns refs couldn't do nothin bout it!!! P Pierce and K Garnett woulda just....wilted..and..uh...oops. Nevermind. My brain just exploded...Uh...Go Falcons? Whup the poor crybaby Saints...Remember Katrina !!!...
