Schaub should have never been traded

Really poor decision, we trade a Probowl QB for peanuts then use a top 3 pick to take a game-manager. Could have used the 3rd pick to take a top DE to couple with Abe, oh what could have been.

We now have a game-managing 10yrd hook throwing QB compared to a QB who has thrown for 700yrds in 2 games, a real dynamic play-making QB.

man what could have been, oh well.

Schaub wouldn't be doing here what hes doing in Texas, simple as that... why you ask? because of the differences in the teams. This is NOT a knock on ATL, he just wouldn't be doing that here. Besides, Schaub was nothing but a backup when we released him nobody had any idea he would have the capabilities he does now. Hind site is 20/20

Oh and one last thing, I love Roddy but he is no Andre Johnson.

But the Texans knew and I'm positive other teams thought that as well.

Again, watching Ryan throw a dozen 10 yrd hook routes and a dump off's to the RB for a TD. It's sad that we wasted a 3rd pick for this atrocity then to make it worst I watch Schaub carve up defenses.

And Schaub threw for 500yrds, JOhnson only got 150 of those 500.

Yet another thing that can be blamed on Vick. Vick didn't want competition, so Schaub was traded. Then the whole dog fighting thing came out and ATL got screwed. Some of you Vick fans should really pay attention to what that man did to this team.

X2!!!

Schaub is a **** of a QB and if we had knew about Vick he wouldn't have been traded. I was one of those fans that wanted Schaub to start over Vick... ;)

And more importantly he Schaub runs circles around Ryan. Everyone will rejoice in Ryan throwing a 5 yrd slant for a TD, a jump ball that should have been picked for a TD, and a 3 yrd dump off for a TD but when it's go time you can bet your *** that Ryan won't make a game-changing play to win the game.

He's a front runner, when the running game is going well the pressure isn't on him. It's just sad that we don't have that type of play-making at the QB position.

You cant blame Vick for Schaub being traded away. The front office has the finally say so on who stays and goes. The Falcons saw a chance to better their team and that point and they took it. Yes Schaub had a great but he's a Houston Texan now, Matt Ryan is our QB and thats all that really matters.

Don't think for a minute that I'm agreeing with you.:lol:

I was about to write up why I would take Ryan over Schaub but it would go in one ear and out the other so no reason to waste my time.

If you really were a Falcons fan and were pissed that we let Schaub go you should look no further than your dog killing hero Vick.

This is one of the most moronic threads in the history of the boards. I hate revisionist history ........ THERE WAS NO WAY WE WERE GOING TO KEEP MATT SCHAUB.

Schaub was traded for the simple fact he was in the last year of the Falcons having control of his rights without putting a franchise tag on him.

Vick was still the starting QB and not even a rumor of dog fighting charges had come out at the time Schaub was traded. # 7 still had about 7 years remaining on a $100 million contract, and several years before he could be cut without killing the cap. In other words, like it or not Vick was going to be the starting QB, and the Falcons were NOT going to franchise a backup QB.

Then you're bitching about the fact that Schaub is putting up huge numbers, and Ryan is a game manager. There are 2 contributing factors.

1.) The Texans have Andre Johnson and Gary Kubiak. The Falcons have Roddy White and Mike Mularkey. Now don't get me wrong, I think Roddy White is a **** of a WR, but he's NOT on the same level as Johnson. Mike Mularkey is **** near as predictable as Dan Reeves.

2.) Schaub has been in the league for 6 friggin years, Matt is just entering his third year. The year that many QB's claim is the year it really starts to click, and they really get it.
