dmite
Why very bad on Gonzalez?
Captain Falcon
Why very bad on Gonzalez?I guess I should have put bad instead of very bad. He just hasn't been a threat like he used to be. That is actually sort of a good thing as we want Ryan going to the receivers more, but at this rate, Gonzo will miss his first pro bowl in a long time (actually, did he go last year?) dmite
He didn't go to the pro bowl last year. We have too many good TEs in the NFC. While he didn't blow up in the stats, he did his job of clearing out guys in the passing game and blocking in the running game.

They were making sure that Gonzo isn't open.

This is why I make these threads So that guys like you can correct me so i'm not some dumb fan who doesn't know what i'm talking about haha. And he should have made the pro bowl last year. And I know he opened up lanes, because people respect him so much as a threat, but he has gotten that kind of respect all his career and still used to get 5-6 catches a game even with all that respect thrown his way.I'm just saying that before this year, I still considered him the best tight end in football, and obviously it is only 2 games, but at this rate he will only end up with 32 catches this season and no matter what the reasoning is, he will be no where close to best TE in the game today conversations with stats like that. I'm not dissing the guy.
Captain Falcon
and why not higher on white?I sort of consider "good" as a "while that was good, even for that guy". A "very good" game is for a guy who put up numbers like "wow i can't believe that guy did that" which was the case for him last week when he pulled in some insane numbers. And at least one W in the playoffs would fulfill the reason he came here in the first place.
RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall
Downgrade Baker to average (we still ran the ball all day, so he doesn't go lower). Why do you say bad for Lofton? I'd have to say Good.

I can officially say Roddy White is a better wide receiver than Tony is a tight end (at least in my opinion). I upgraded him to bad though. Because you are right, he isn't going to be a huge part of our offense like he used to, but he certainly is still a factor.also downgraded Baker to average. Osiruz
lofton slipped on that td run, and spoon got chop blocked if i'm correct.I think willie mo had a very good game, he needs to be starting.
wartownfalcon
Abraham had a good game, just because he doesn't get a sack doesn't mean he had a bad game. Anderson did a good job of getting the passes off before getting sacked. Abe hit him 2 times i think and if i rem correct made a good stop on a RB pass

If he played like that all year, he would still be a good DE but he would have 0 sacks. So I think it is a less than average game for him. aerosmith67
Gonzo didn't play a bad game, he actually played a very good game. He threw a key block on Ryan/Snelling's TD that put the Falcons up 17-10. http://www.atlantafalcons.com/falconstv/?_id=4c976014345ad2ad16000000The two catches Tony did have were big plays during the course of the game. The problem with threads like this is unless you're watching the whole field of play you're not getting a full picture of what players did over the course of a game. If you watch games on TV you're missing 60-70% of what's really going on during any given play.

aerosmith67
Tony had some key blocks today. He had a few de-cleaters in there, he's becoming a great blocking TE which he really wasn't known for before coming to Atlanta.
