No surprise here. Good pickup for sure. Him transferring to the school in Florida will be big for him. He's a real lanky kid but he's going to put on some muscle and improve his grades down there. So he should come in ready to play.

you may know this already, but i believe about a month ago he was down in florida at a camp and went up against a number of 4 and 5 star bigs and dominated. he is very underrated and a heck of a pickup. i expect us to pickup up royal as well.

C Tim Dixon becomes commitment No. 2 for UGA basketball

12:07 am September 20, 2010, by Chip Towers

Tim Dixon, a 6-foot-10, 215-pound center from Oldsmar, Fla., committed to Georgia during his official visit this past weekend, at least three media outlets are reporting.

Dixon becomes the Bulldogs second basketball commitment for 2011 and plans to sign in the early period in November. He chose UGA over Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and South Carolina, among others.

At Georgia, Dixon will join two fellow members of the Georgia Blazers AAU team: Kentavious Caldwell and Nick Marshall. Caldwell, a five-star-rated shooting guard, committed to the Bulldogs back in July. Marshall is a UGA football commitment who plans to also play basketball. Dixon is rated a three-star prospect.

Dixon and his family only recently moved from the Columbus area to Oldsmar, which is in the Tampa-Clearwater area.

So, I like our chances in the SEC this year. Kentucky will still be a handful, but with the way we played them last season with our lack of depth, we MIGHT be able to win the conference. We'll definitely make the dance this year, and could make some noise.

this coming year IMO florida will be the favorite to win the sec east while the vols are considered the 2nd best team with kentucky 3rd. uga is considered 4th with vandy 5th and sc 6th.. i think uga can win the sec east this year returning the best player arguably in the conference with thompkins. he is a leading candidate for player of the year if he maintains and stays healthy.
