falconsfansrus
There were aproximately 12,000-15,000 empty seats at the Dome today, yet, it was announced as a sell out. It doesn't make sense... It is sad to see all those empty seats...
SaintsH8
I was wondering the same thing. I'm just glad that the game was on because I cannot afford to buy tickets.

Lower Endzone.Im thinking blank is doing it for the city. buying up all the unsold tickets. He loves this city and the falcons. I just wish people would put their butts in the seats and not leave early.

It is sad to see all those empty seats...I was there today (STH) and don't believe that there were 12-15K empty seats. As a matter of fact, there were far more people in their seats at kickoff than usual. Perhaps the Falcons sponsored concession discounts had a positive impact. Dharma Initiative
When a game doesn't really sell out, sponsors buy up the unused tickets and give them out, but a lot of people use them.

You must have tailgated too much and were seeing double There were definetely a whole lot of empty seats, esspecially in the upper level and big sections of the club level. mjqvi
There were lots of empty seatsPart of it could be the fact that season tickets in the upper deck for the Falcons are really cheap. If I'm a visiting fan that never gets to see my team (Packers etc) I can buy a cheap season ticket and guarantee myself a seat and discard the remainder of the tickets vs buying a super expensive resell one at the home team stadium. Granted no fan in the seat is terrible but at the end of the day it is still a sell out..The remainder is likely corporate buy ups. A blackout lifted sell out happens at 95% ticket sell through. AF89
You know it was a great day when everyone's complaning about the attendance and not the offense.
isproab
Shameful. I'm not a season ticket holder, but when I go to games, I'm in the dome no later than 12:15 so I can get in a bathroom break and get my food all before kickoff. In Atlanta, there are too many people that would really rather be doing something else. The crowd did a pretty good job of getting into their seats by 10 minutes to kickoff. I was there a good hour early and made a point to watch for it. There were a few stragglers but on the whole, it wasn't too bad.
joenate
There were aproximately 12,000-15,000 empty seats at the Dome today, yet, it was announced as a sell out. It doesn't make sense... It is sad to see all those empty seats...Maybe people cannot afford game tickets, parking, transit, food, etc.Maybe some people are satisfied with tv than being at the game. This does not make them any less of a fan than a player on the team.Maybe some people do not like football at all.Maybe some people like football but dont take it as serious as others.Nothing wrong with any of the above.ORMaybe all the bandwagoners, fair-weathereds and fans of players left. . .if this is the case, good riddance.I have never been to a game though I can afford it, I simply do not want to spend the money for ticket and such.
