Dharma Initiative
http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting/_/sort/avg/league/nl/year/2010/seasontype/2The stats for the top batting averages. They list Troy Tulowitzki who had 418 at bats with his .328 average. They don't list Infante and his 413 at bats with his .336 average, it was even like this last week when Infante had more at bats than TT and TT was still listed. Falconsfan567
That's because Troy Tulowitzki has enough plate appearances to qaulify and Omar doesn't. It would be like that only any website. Click on non-qualified and Omar is listed.

Falconsfan567
I think I'm confused. How does he have 500 plate appearances when he has 418 at bats?To qualify as a league leader a player must have 3.1 plate appearances per team games played. The Rockies have played 148 games. 148 times 3.1 equals 458 plate appearances. Tulowitzki has 418 at-bats plus 43 walks plus 5 sac flies plus 1 sac bunt plus 4 hit by pitches giving him 471 plate appearances. He qualifies. Now let's do Omar. The Braves have played 149 games. 149 time 3.1 equals 461 plate appearances. Omar has 418 at-bats plus 25 walks plus 2 sac flies plus 3 sac bunts equals 447 plate appearances. Omar just barely misses the cut.The 502 number comes from the end of the season number of 162 games times 3.1 at-bats equaling 502. The Braves have 13 games left. If Omar plays every game and ends up with 4 at-bats every game he will end up with 499 plate appearances. So it will be close but he does have a chance to qualify by the end of the season. Last year Prado didn't make the cut till after the last game of the season and as a result Prado is in the record books as having lead the Braves in batting average in 2009 at .307. But I still hate ESPN
