slamee101
Not to sound like I'm taking the guys side...but Richt will be in trouble and there are things that make me wonder if it's going to get turned around. We're still not getting turnovers, still making dumb penalties (although not as many, still giving up the big passing plays with guys wide open, still struggling to tackle, still making some horrendous calls on offense despite the talent there...and this is what I feel is a down year in the SEC. I love Richt but we have slipped out of being one of the SEC elite...h can only live off of 07, 05, etc for so long.

But still fields a mediocre team every yr. All this points to coaching. Keep in mind Damon Evans is gone, this new AD will have no problem letting him go and bringing in HIS guy. He came from UF which i like too. If Tennesee can fire Fulmer who was more accomplished than Richt UGA can easily fire Richt. I think its time for him and his I Formation to take a hike

This is not our only bad season. It's not like we are getting a mediocre recruiting class. UGA is loaded with talent year after year. All we can say for it is, we have more than one 10 win season, and an SEC Championship?

I think its time for him and his I Formation to take a hikeWe do not field a mediocre team every year. We had a somewhat mediocre team last year that got much better as the year went on. A mediocre team that beat the ACC champions and smoked one of the highest scoring offenses in the country in our bowl game. An underachieving team? Sure. Mediocre? Hardly.Keep in mind you are being an ignorant fan. Richt has had plenty of success at Georgia and he is a great recruiter. He has put together a defensive staff that is not only proven in coaching but great recruiters as well. You should be patient in allowing this team to develop with a new defensive system and staff, along with a new QB.What the **** do you think will happen if Richt gets fired? We magically find the cross-bred clone of Nick Saban and Urban Meyer? Some of you guys care way too much about what other teams have. The grass isn't always greener. We have a great head coach and he will get things straightened out.And at your hate for the I formation. That's Georgia football, son. MonettaDAWG
Anyone who promotes firing Richt has no clue, who do we hire to replace him ? One mistake in coverage cost us the game today, It was a mistake that probably would not have been made if Smith was playing corner. We have a redshirt freshman QB and a new defense what do you expect ?

sdogg
More like 7-8 mistakes in coverage... but hey who's counting.Exactly!!! Im not calling for CMR head now, but it is really getting hard to keep making excuses for him. Im tired of all the excuses. We seem to come up with so many, each year. They are running out. MonettaDAWG
The first six didn't cost us the game. There will be mistakes that is to be expected when you change schemes. I'm glad Willy Martinez is gone but this is how it is when you make changes. Be patient guys we may suck this year but where heading in the right direction. Go Dawgs ! No telling if Smith would have read that any differently, though... that's really impossible to say.We had 2 dropped INTs... one by Rambo that could have been an easy 6. That also hurts as it could have changed a number of things about how the game unfolded.

USC had a 65% third down conversion rate, which is unbelievably bad. Today, we let them convert on a 4th down muffed punt- we could have had great field position then. We are just not that well coached on the ST either (though our coverage teams have improved quite a bit).
