Secking
earlier than expected? Per Rusty:"I may commit the night of the state championship. We plan on being in dome. I will make it 2 or 3 UGA games." Isaiah Crowell

youngbloodz
Saw him play last night. And man he proved something to me last night. He has a second gear. He didn't have that last year. Crowell can be a Heisman type of player in college football. Long as he keeps his head on straight and keeps working hard
ChuyDawg
yep heard that last night.. great news.Sounds like his mind is already made up, Don't you think? It seems to me that if he went ahead and pulled the trigger now for UGA it would create a dominoe effect with more of the blue chip guys UGA is targeting. I have to believe that UGA is pushing for an answer considering Crowell has been their priority since day 1. It has been well documented that Bama has been targeting other targets and I believe that works in our favor. Remember that he once said, "If I had to sign today, I would sign with UGA." We need him to commit now IMO, and I believe that he will commit even sooner than their potential Championship game. But I do believe that Bama's chances get alot better the longer his recruitment drags on.Just my opinion.

papi
Its just me but I personally believe that we need to find ways to keep the best players in Georgia.....in Georgia...more particularly UGA.I wish all the top athletes wanted to represent the state they come from; however, guess they do whats seems best for them (greg reid). Hey, Crowell did hug CMR in the end-zone after a TD. Hope its a good sign.

ChuyDawg
What did Knowshon win at Georgia?Come on man. Most of your posts are very sensible, not so much on this one. Talented kids make a college decision just like a business decision.Knowshon, obviously a talented RB, chose UGA because he felt like he could compete and eventually get into the NFL. I don't think all this "what did Knowshon win" talk matters to him because he got PAID. Its business at the end of the day.If Crowell feels that Bama offers the best opportunity for him, then so be it. I wont be mad at him. Again, its business.I know you're a Bama fan and your team is on top right now but try to hold back on the arrogance. Things can take a turn for the worst very quickly, you and I both know this. Just saying that, if Crowell wants to win championships, it seems like his best possibility is in Tuscaloosa based on where everything stands with the two programs right now. If Crowell wants to represent the home state, which is certainly understandable, then he will go with Georgia. If developed properly, the kid is going to get an NFL payday no matter where he goes.Mark Richt is in trouble. Maybe Mike Bobo is the problem. But as another poster pointed out, Richt is running out of assistants to fire.
Billy Ocean
Bama has been recruiting a number of the top RBs in the country. UGA has pretty much exclusively recruited Crowell.
Mr Pickle1
Just saying...If I were Crowell, I'd go to Bama. Our offensive scheme/talent/playcalling/coaching/s and c is a trainwreck. I hate it with the fire of a thousand million billion suns, but we just aren't what UGA should be anymore. Crowell would be better developed, better used, and far more succesful at Bama than he will be at UGA. CMR basically gave away his chance for continued employment at UGA when Bobo wasn't swept out with the refuse of the D staff. There's no longer enough time for us to fire Bobo after the season, and then wait ANOTHER year or two for the new O and D schemes to gel and get the athletes in here to play them. And that's assuming Richt even will fire Bobo this year.Btw, anyway coach Belue's pathetic defense of Bobo on his blog?
SacFalcFan
we do. His name is Caleb King. He was a better prospect than Crowell. What has he done at UGA? He's an avg back.caleb king was never the same after his broken leg. i saw him in person his jr, sr, and his college career and he isn't close to the same. he however is a very impt part of this offense. he is the blocker ealey is not and as we saw yesterday a rb who can block is pretty dang impt and he is a very tough runner. also we have not had a back like crowell in athens. he has that extra gear that knowshon didn't have. each kid has their own reasons for picking a school and isaiah grew up a huge dawg fan and he would be an instant threat in this offense and would contribute right away and he sees that opportunity. any uga fan who says he hopes a great recruit goes elsewhere needs to take a breathe and stop with the self hating. kingjamez
Nobody has seen Caleb King at UGA. He's been injured. ****, he's injured right now. If Isaiah Crowell breaks his leg and then gets bothered by injuries his entire collegiate career he will be average as well. With AJ out we don't have any Isaiah Crowell caliber players on the field. Caleb has never been the same since he broke his leg at the beginning of his Senior season in HS. I made that point before and get called out for "making excuses" for King.Let me tell you something. I saw this kid play in penty of HS games and dude was a man amongst boys, and was playing against some very good competition. Dude would burst right up the middle, juke a LB and then just outrun DB's. I saw him play some DB as well. Caleb was a very athletic ball player, dude was a ballhawk, I even saw him lay the lumber on some poor kids a few times. I just have not seen that at the next level. I get it that at the next level everybody is much bigger and quicker but I just don't think Caleb has made it over the hump yet. I'm still waiting and hoping for it, but he has to stay healthy. Something is always happening to my boy. Through all this I still remain a huge Caleb fan and hope for the best for him.I like what I see in Crowell and hope he ends up playing between the hedges but the decision is for him to make. I know people say Crowell looks nothing like Caleb but I have to disagree. Their tapes look very similar. The only thing that sticks out to me is that Crowell can bang and bounce off tackles. Caleb was just as impressive in HS though.
itsjustafleshwound
I hope he goes to Bama where he will be used. If he comes to UGA he'll be another avg player Richt and Bobo's terrible offenseIts one thing to want Richt fired, its another thing to root against your team. If you're so distraught over football and if you're so willing to betray that team, you're delusional and disloyal. Go root for Bama until their next downswing, which will come within the next decade. Then once Saban leaves, however far away that may be, you can always come back and root for Georgia as if you never left.By the way:1) Ealey carried close to 20 times and almost averaged 5 yards2) Ealey is good but he is not fast- from what I hear, he is big-boned3) King has always been injured, thus production has been low4) You're a jokeAgain, I don't care what you think about the coaches. I think Bobo should either hand playcalling back to Richt or he should be fired. I also think Richt should be on the hotseat. On the otherhand, I won't root against my team because I'm not personally happy with their performance. A) I can't do any better B.) Threepac Daddy
uga had several top recruits go to uga and never lived up to their potential and that comes straight down to the offensive coaching plain and simple.

I'm looking at you Chris Rainey. I'm looking at you, every single WR currently on campus. I'm looking at you, assorted 5 star DT's. I'm looking at you, every rb not named Jeff Demps. Yes, UGA's had guys who didn't live up to their billing. And we've had quite a few who have exceeded it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not thrilled about our offensive coaches. I think Searels and Bobo do a rather crappy job. But to say that it is because of some players not living up to their HS press clippings is absurd. You've got that at every...single...school. A lot of them.

kingjamez
Florida's recruits are more likely to get arrested than become an all-ameircan.I can say this because UF has more players arrested or charged than UGA, and that is saying a lot.
