Over an hour ago - S William Moore put in additional work after Thursday's practice, both on the field and in the weight room with with strength and conditioning coach Jeff Fish. "(Fish) is doing a good job of prepping me after practice and doing some extra work," Moore said. Falcons RapidReports

I guess he really wants the JOB.

William Moore may start at safety for Coleman

William Moore may get to a start against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

FLOWERY BRANCH – Safety William Moore may start Sunday if Erik Coleman’s left knee doesn’t respond to treatment before the Falcons‘ home opener against Arizona at the Georgia Dome.

Coleman, who injured his knee last Sunday against Pittsburgh, didn’t practice with the team again Thursday.

“It’s an opportunity for both William and [reserve] Shann Schillinger if Erik is not ready to go,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We hope that Erik is feeling better and has an opportunity to participate.”

If Coleman is able to play, whether he starts will likely be a game-time decision.

Moore, the team’s second-round draft pick in 2008, missed most of last season because of hamstring and knee injuries. He missed some training time in the offseason with a pectoral and groin injury.

“It’s an opportunity and I’m looking forward to it,” Moore said. “I hope Erik comes back, because I know that would be good for the team. But if not, I’m willing try to step in and pick up where he left off.”

Moore played on special teams last Sunday. It would be his first NFL start, if Coleman is unable to play against the Cardinals.

“It would be a great opportunity for anybody,” Moore said. “I’m looking forward to it. If it happens, it happens.”

Moore is also hoping that his injuries are behind him.

“All offseason I stayed here and got my body right so that I could come out here and contribute to the team,” Moore said. “I’m trying to just show coaches that I can go out there and dominate.”

He is an unknown, but if he can make a few tackle and cover a pass play here and there, I will be happy.

on the one hand, I am anxious to see what he can do

on the other hand, the fact he did not get a snap with the defense last week, well, that tells me where the coaches think he is today

why would u saty that? it was on the road and about to be in OT, why would u put in someone else at that time of the game unless coleman couldnt go back out there, that wouldnt have been the best situation for him to be starting in, even if he did well....
