xxstealth
There are a good amount of people in their seats, I am always in for kick off, but there are tons of people walking around trying to get beer, food, to the toilet, whatever. cb5639
This week everybody ought to want to be in their seats early. I read in another thread (inside slant) that they are doing a small thing for Tony G. prior to kickoff for getting # 1000. It would be cool to see, right? I'd like to see it but I live in Tampa so i'm SOL... but I will be in the seats at Raymond James prior to kick off on 12/5 (going off memory on that date)
Dirtybird404
Wow Tampa really suck other than ybor. Raymond James is one really nice stadium tho. Ain't gonna lie
ltstorm2
If our season depends on the stadium being at full tilt at the coin toss we're going no where. Period. Would it be nice? Of course. Should it matter? It better not.

Ain't gonna lieHaha Tampa is ok but being born and raised here I'm tired of it. I haven't been to Ybor in about 8 or 9 years. Stadium is niceI'd leave in a heartbeat but I've been at my current job just over 10 years and at this time theres not much out there
aerosmith67
CHEAP HOT DOGS WILL HELP!!! LOL.. it realy is a joke.. Did u see The Jets Satdium at Kickoff? Or KC's? The place is going nuts at kickoff.. our fans are moseing to thier seats, takin thier leather jackets and sunglasses off, etc.. its sad..I'm with Tandy on this, mostly because I know what she sees because I get to the games early, not as early as she does but early. HOWEVER, to compare a standard Sunday 1PM Falcons game to a Jets/Chiefs MNF game to open the season is ludicrous. It's also not just cheaper food, it's cheaper merchandise and more entertainment before the game actually starts. People often complain or state that it's cheaper to eat outside of the Dome before going in, guess what? The Falcons listened AGAIN and they're trying to make it more affordable to eat in the stadium. To laugh at the Falcons attempt to solve an issue is also ludicrous, they've made many strides since 2007 to make the Dome and the atmosphere better and they've done this all by listening to the fans. aerosmith67
In before the "I have to go to church" person posts. It is a factor, the South takes church much more seriously than other places in this country. I've literally lived in every conceivable area of this country outside of the North West and I can honestly say that there's more churches and people attending them here than I ever remember anywhere else. aerosmith67
This is the press release: Falcons introduce new pregame activitiesBy: Matt Haley | September 15th, 2010 Recommend (1) Print Enlarge Text FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — The Atlanta Falcons today announced several new activities the club has adopted to encourage fans get inside the Georgia Dome in time for kickoff this season. The new programs begin with Sunday’s home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.“Our fans are some of the most vocal fans in the National Football League,” Falcons President Rich McKay said. “Our new pregame enhancements are simply designed to get the bulk of our crowd into the Dome earlier. Our goal is a simple one: by kickoff, we want the Georgia Dome to be a loud and intimidating place from the very start of our games.”During the 2010 offseason, the Falcons conducted a series of fan surveys to gain a better understanding of how their fans spend their time before kickoff and what Falcons fans wanted to see during the club’s pregame presentation.“We are always looking for ways to improve all areas of our game day experience,” Falcons Chief Marketing Officer Jim Smith said. “One of the most interesting facts our research uncovered was that a large number of our crowd enters the Dome as much as 10 minutes after kickoff. We spent a considerable amount of time developing initiatives we think will incentivize our fans to get into the building a little earlier.”Beginning when gates to the Dome open at 11 a.m. through 12:30 p.m., fans will be able to enjoy Early Bird food and merchandise discounts. The Early Bird food options include the Falcons Family Plan, which includes four hot dogs, four bags of chips, four sodas and four candy items, all for $40. The Falcons Combo Plan, consisting of two hot dogs, two bags of chips, two sodas and two candy items, is available for $20.Additionally, the club is offering bottomless specials for souvenir sodas ($6.00) and popcorn ($5.50) throughout the game. These specials are available at all concession locations that serve those two items.Fans who want to purchase Falcons merchandise on game day will receive $10 off purchases of $50 or more and $20 off purchases of $100 or more at all Falcons365 locations in the Dome. These specials are available until 12:30 p.m.For fans tailgating outside of the Dome, a pyrotechnic salute will launch from Falcons Landing at 12:15 p.m., signaling it’s time to begin their “Journey to the Dome.”Simultaneously, the popular Falcons drumline will begin leading fans on their march towards the Dome from the Orange, Blue and Yellow parking lots, as well as from the Gulch.Following pregame warmups, fans will be treated to an exciting pregame show that will feature NFL and Falcons team highlights, music, performances by the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders and a Falcons journey video montage highlighting the most memorable moments in team history.Falcons’ team introductions will follow the video montage, and Samuel L. Jackson’s Rise Up anthem will be shown just seconds before the opening kickoff.“We think our fans will enjoy the revamped pregame activities,” Smith said. “They’re in direct response to what we heard from them during the offseason, and we’re happy to do what we can to continuously improve their game day experience.”

aerosmith67
the jets have always had a dedicated fan base regardless..and the KC game was primetime..What do you expect????It's crazy to compare MNF games to start the season to a Sunday 1PM game. The turnout is even better for 4PM or 8PM Falcons games. It's not just a coincidence. If the Falcons do want to get more people into the Dome they could improve the speed of security. I noticed last year during the Saints game that it takes quite a while to get through some of the lower gates compared to the upper gates. My buddy got to the game at 12:45 and didn't get to the seats until 1:15 or later because he went through a lower gate.
pr0d1gy
Higher ticket prices & lack of a winning tradition = weak fans that are just there to see a game...not scream their heads off for their team.
st4ngeI2
considering i have season tickets on the first level and am in my seat by 12 - I can definitely attest that the dome is NOT FULL come kickoff...the morons start stumbling in towards the half. And to think, people on this board have the nerve to talk about other fanbases. Looks like the Saints will help your fans leave even earlier when they come visit in December.
