falconidae
Couple of years ago, Texans were a good young team with a good young QB that needed to learn how to win. Had the colts in their division, who they couldn't beat. They finally had a winning season last year and just beat the colts in the first game this year. Maybe they've learned how to win.Same thing for the falcons now- good young team, good young QB, need to learn how to win, have a really strong team as a division rival. Don't think it'll take the falcons as long. They stumbled in their first test this year, just couldn't make the big play in any aspect of the game, but there are plenty more coming up- BALT, NO, CINN, PHIL, GB, NO. [ not overlooking the rest- but these are the best teams on the schedule]. They'll some of those games. We're watching a very good team being built right now- some of the growing pains aren't fun, but they're building a super bowl quality team here and not only am I going to enjoy the final victory, I'm going to enjoy the ride. The problem is simple with Atlanta. Matt Ryan needs another top WR and we could use a real LT. That is all. This team is not that far, in fact, we are a playoff team without question. Good defense. Good defense. Well coached. Just nothing really special. Turner is Turner, great v. solid to poor defenses but poor v. good to elite defenses. He has been like this since he first arrived in Atlanta. Roddy is a great #1 but might not be elite. The defense is good, Dunta seemed rusty but he should improve. Spoon seems legit and I hope Peterson holds up. The D-Line looks for real. Faithful Falcon
The Texans only caught the Colts off guard. Colts were expecting Shaub the kill them, and they ran the ball 100 times.

Since 66' we have been going thru growing pains!
falconidae
Good point but the falcons have always been so inconsistant. Since 66' we have been going thru growing pains!Yeah, but they've never had a combo of Owner, GM, Coach and franchise QB they do now. Think the Combo of Blank,Dimitroff, Smith and Ryan can get us to the promised land.

vel
How has he lost his mind with that? We now have a pretty good defense (at least as of our week 1 showing) and our offense is solid. We just need another playmaking WR and an OC who has a killer instinct who knows how to call pass plays when it is time to abandon the run. Turner is only good against 4-3 defenses or sub par 3-4 defenses. But thats what we need to win the division. I think it has more to do with our OLine. They are smaller and gritty but there is a reason Baker is the only 1st round pick. Look at the Jets OLine. Dunta was clearly rusty but he played good for it being his first game and didn't give up crucial penalties like Cromartie/Revis. I hope we get a more attacking OC this offseason if Mularkey doesn't show that he has that killer instinct then he has to go. I know consistency is a good thing but only if he can utilize the tremendous amount of talent given to him.
