Suggests that the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was a battle between two, let me repeat 2 future playoff teams. Numerous articles, radio shows, tv shows that all discuss sports have said this unless my ears are playing tricks on me.

My question is why does a good chunk of our fan base try to shine a bad light upon us with ignorant thread after ignorant thread??? I don't get it. Criticism is fine but 99% of these meltdown posts are not criticism, they are bashing, hitting the panic button, attention seeking temper tantrums.

The Falcons and Steelers will both be playoff teams in 2010 and that physical football game only further strengthens that statement. The only ones who failed to see that are a good amount of you on these boards. We went toe to toe with one of the most physical units in the NFL of the past decade and in their house! Unfortunately we didn't come out with a win, but if some of you can't see teams are going to struggle vastly against that level of play the Falcons displayed on Sunday you are a lost cause and should go root for another team.

I saw 2 playoff teams battling it out on Sunday. Maybe you didn't which is fine because you are entitled to your opinion. It was just one of those grind it out, physical football games. The Jets and Ravens had a similar game last night. The Cowboys and Redskins had a similar game on SNF. All of these teams have solid defensive units that don't give away much no matter how good the offense they are facing is.

If Atlanta can go toe to toe with teams like the Steelers, Ravens (we'll have our chance), etc. on defense we are going to be just fine.

Also Peyton I said criticism was fine. You can't actually sit there with a straight face and say a majority of these threads are criticism. If you think that maybe you need to look up the word in the dictionary.

No I'm suggesting if you spend the majority of your posts here bashing the team, bashing the players, bashing the front office then you are either a troll or have an agenda.

Peyton this is not an either or thing, yes you can obviously be critical of the team without having an agenda or being a troll but we both know the difference. If you want to creep to the other side feel free I'll lump you in with the Jedi's or Swfit hitters of the world who obviously have an agenda as all they do is post negative threads trying to get a rise out of people or post crap for the sole fact of saying"I TOLD YOU SO" at a later date.

You've already been a melo dramatic emo moper this whole pre season, it's not that far a leap to just be another agenda poster.

#1 never read AJC after any loss. This goes for any team's hometown anything media wise. #2 ESPN is a joke, although I distinctly remember Colin Cowherd saying these are 2 playoff teams, he repeated the sentiment on his radio show.

I'm from VA so I get a fresh perspective from difference news sources not from the area. Both online, in the newspaper, and on the radio. Everything I have read and heard personally has hinted at these 2 being playoff teams. That isn't to say there wasn't criticism in the articles or opinions at all because there was. Some on Turner, some on Ryan, some on the defense for dropped INT's. Overall though big picture wise the consensus was ATL and PITT will be in the 2010 playoffs.

I was disappointed that we lost but thought, as was already stated, that it was a hard fought battle between two tough teams.

I don't have unrealistic expectations about dominating in Pitt, or how our offense will perform so I was able to sit there and enjoy a hard fought football game.

The first game of the year is always going to be a little ugly, as is a game against a tough defense. The game reminded me of a Ravens/Steelers, battle it out type of win.

Ryan wasn't perfect, the running game was lacking, the defense gave up some big plays but in spite of those things we were in it until the end. No it doesn't count for anything in the win column but my hope is that it serves as a great motivator for the team.

Initially there might have been an overreaction by a lot of posters because we lost, and losing makes people upset, angry and lose control of their rational emotions.

However, I actually think that for every negative topic started, there seems to be an equivalent "stop complaining" or "this board is so negative" topic!

I think we've all realised that whilst this game was disappointing to lose, it's certainly not the end of the world. There are positives to be taken, and negatives to be scrutised. And where better to scrutinise than on these boards?!

I don't need to read anyone elses opinion on a game I saw with my own eyes. Bottomline is I've seen enough NFL football to know that this Falcons team can come out next week and put up 44 points and go on a 6 game winning streak. But that's what fans do on Mon-Fri following a bad loss. If you think it's bad here go to one of the message boards for an NFC East team that loses..The panicking, vitriol and loathing in these boards pale in comparrision...

You know what I can't stand? Somebody who's been at this site like 5 minutes and thinks they can judge people. If a person were to look at my posting history, they would find that there are great more positive threads and posts than negative. Dale I'll let you in on a little secret no matter what you've read if we play the way we did in Pitt against Arizona we lose against New Orleans we lose, Now we are 0-3 get it ?

We carried our pre-season play into the regular season and have only scored one offensive TD this year. If you don't think we have problems you're blind as a %$%# bat.

I have a realistic view of the team I'm a fan of. It sucks we lost, I think our defense played well and our offense needs to pass more down the field I also think Ryan had a good game and made one mistake. I just don't see the point in having an agenda to tear them down all the time like you and Jedi do and to some extent Peyton does. I don't see the point in flipping out over the first game.

Does that oh so realistic view bring you more enjoyment during the games? Does it give you pride that you have an agenda to post negative threads here all the time? Does it bring you comfort at night knowing you spewed a bunch of negative crap here and then later in the year you can say you were right? Do you actually think the team will change or do anything based on your ranting?

So please tell me what your REALISTIC view does for you and the team? What is actually going to be accomplished? What is the end goal for your threads here?

Your about the worst one of the bunch, what are you going to accomplish?
